Planned power cuts. We're committed to providing you with a safe and reliable electricity supply. We invest millions every year in upgrading and improving our electricity network. This involves regularly carrying out maintenance to prevent any damage to our electricity cables, lines and equipment. Two key points to explain earthing in your property: • External earthing: When a new house is built we install a new power cable which is connected to the wider electricity network. We make sure we provide an earthing terminal so a customer’s electrician can connect to this PLANS SHOWING WHERE ELECTRICITY CABLES ARE LinesearchbeforeUdig is a service that can be used to check works against over 60 asset owners’ utility assets. This includes hundreds of thousands of kilometres of underground and overhead pipes and cables in the electricity, gas, high pressure fuel, water and fibreoptic networks.
REPLACE A METER BOARD If your meter board holds our electricity supply then we can replace this for you free of charge. We would turn the power off so we can work safely, unscrew the board and replace it, then put all the equipment back on a new board and turn everything back on again. In some cases we may need your electricity supplier to move theelectricity meter

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SINGLE PHASE AND THREE Three phase and single phase are electricity supplies and it’s the amount of power that is different. A single phase supply is smaller and most domestic houses with gas central heating need single phase and have this as standard. If you require two or more electricity meters then you need a three phase supply.UK POWER NETWORKS
