UK LIVE MUSIC
UK Music also has an informal association with LIVE (Live music Industry Venues & Entertainment), the voice of the UK’s live music and entertainment business. LIVE members are a federation of 13 live music industry associations representing 3,150 businesses, over 4,000 artists and 2,000 backstage workers. Website: livemusic.biz. UK MUSIC DIVERSITY TASKFORCE It includes representatives from the core industry sectors: major and indie record labels, music publishers, trade organisations, collection societies and the British live music industry. In 2016, UK Music undertook the first industry-wide workforce diversity survey, focusing on gender and ethnicity. The latest survey was published in 2018. MUSIC PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION Music Publishers Association – with 260 major and independent music publishers in membership, representing close to 4,000 catalogues across all genres of music. UK MUSIC UNVEILS NEW REPORT OUTLINING STRATEGY TO RESTART UK Music Unveils New Report Outlining Strategy To Restart Live Music Industry When Safe. UK Music publishes its Let the Music Play: Save Our Summer 2021 report, which outlines a clear strategy to protect and support the multi-billion pound live music industry so it is ready to restart when safe to do so later this year. 5.01.2021: UK Music ALL-PARTY PARLIAMENTARY GROUP ON MUSIC The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Music exists to provide a discussion forum between the music industry and parliamentarians. All-Party Parliamentary Groups bring together Lords and MPs from across the party political divide and act as a point for dialogue amongst decision makers on issues of concern. UK MUSIC LAUNCHES MEASURING MUSIC Music’s economic contribution in 2013: • GVA of £3.8bn. • GVA up 9% year-on-year (£3.5bn in 2012) • More than 111,000 full time jobs supported. • Music exports of £2.2bn.
