Isolated Incidents
A short film by Youth Cinema Collective What’s it like living in the “lockdown culture” at school? Active shooter drills, for better or worse, are a part of our children’s lives at this point. But what if your child doesn't know whether it is a drill or the real thing? Isolated Incidentsis a
dramatic 22 minute depiction of what students experience--written, filmed, and acted by teens. Texas Gun Sense provided consultation to the Collective as they began creating their story. ------------------------- Read our CURRENT PRIORITIES.
Over 3,500 gun-related deaths occur in Texas each year.
Texas Gun Sense is calling on state leaders to make targeted, commonsense policy changes that can save lives. Our TOP TWO prioritiesare:
*
Enact an Extreme Risk Protection Order law (“red flag” law). Extreme risk protection laws create a mechanism for civil court judges to order individuals who pose an elevated risk of endangering themselves or others to temporarily relinquish their firearms.*
Enact universal background checks. Unlicensed gun sellers are exempt from having to perform any background check before selling a firearm — that is unsafe. Exceptions can be crafted as appropriate. Texas Gun Sense director@txgunsense.org PO Box 92722, Austin, TX 78709-2722 (512) 903-4186Details
