I have just started to get back into biking recently (although I had a seldom used Trek mountain bike in the 90's). I currently have a Giant Fastroad CoMax 1 and a Giant ToughRoad SLR 1. I have decided to add a comfort bike to my stable. I UPGRADE FROM CANTILEVER TO V BRAKES? To do the swap, you'll need brakes and new levers, plus some new cables and housing. Don't skimp on a brake upgrade. Installation is easy enough, but getting the pads aligned takes a bit of patience. I can probably swap brakes front and rear in 20 minutes, but it shouldn't take you more than an hour, which allows for a beer or two. HELP! CAN YOU GIVE ME A ROUND ABOUT ESTIMATE FOR THIS OLD $20 at best. It's the lowest end of the Fuji line, it has chrome steel for handlebars, stems, seatpost, and it appears the rims too but the pic is bad to be sure, steel cottered cranks, they used straight gauge tensil steel, the whole bike probably wieghed close to 35 pounds ifnot more.

UPGRADE FROM CANTILEVER TO V BRAKES? To do the swap, you'll need brakes and new levers, plus some new cables and housing. Don't skimp on a brake upgrade. Installation is easy enough, but getting the pads aligned takes a bit of patience. I can probably swap brakes front and rear in 20 minutes, but it shouldn't take you more than an hour, which allows for a beer or two.ELECTRA BIKE PAINT

THUMB SHIFTERS VS GRIP SHIFTERS? I have grip shifters on my bicycle currently, but they're on the way out and I need replacements. SCIENCE STILL CAN'T EXPLAIN HOW THE BICYCLE WORK! According to this article, science and physics still can't explain how a bicycle can stay upright when it's moving. Some of the prevailing theories (such as the gyroscopic forces of the spinning wheels) were dispelled when they built a bike that removed theses forces and the bike was still able to remain upright. STRAVA EXTENSIONS, WHO USES THEM? I'm sure plenty of people are using Strava here but how many of the available extensions does every use? I've used the Stravistix for quite a while. I just added Sauce today even though it's been around for several years I decided to add the extension today. Kinda wish I would have done it some time ago. I've had Veleoviewer for a while as well. rola643 Feb 25, 2018 Read MoreReplies: 13

SHOULD WE SHAVE OUR LEGS? Like many sports that originated in Europe, cycling is not very popular with Americans. The activity, like soccer and cricket, are seen as easier and less masculine sports than activities like baseball and football. But anyone who’s seen the Tour de France for themselves know this is far from the fact. The truth is that professional cycling is one of the hardest endurance sports and requires a certain individual to reach the competitive level. However, the reality that most pro cyclists shave their legs and arms doesn’t lend any credence to the debate. passionispain Sep 16, 2011 Read MoreReplies: 364

RODE AND CLEARED MY FIRST GAP JUMP 1-2 FOOT (SMALL VICTORY) I've got some bmx type dirt jumps near my home off the beaten path of a paved trail. These jumps have tempted and frightened me for quite awhile. However, lately I went down to these jumps out of pure boredom to give them another try. I'm psyched out hitting the same jump in reverse for some reasonthough.
