EASY AND CHEAP WAY TO "FROST" WINDOWS FOR PRIVACY FROM Here's how it looks from the inside: There are window privacy films you can try that work well as well, but they are more expensive. QUICK TIP: BROKEN COMMAND STRIPS REMOVAL FROM THRIFTY Just so you know. ;) So you take the floss behind the plastic part -- if you can get it behind the sticky stuff, do it! Just wiggle it down behind until it reaches the bottom: If your hook is really stuck your floss may break -- sometimes I have to use a few pieces, sometimes onedoes the trick.
I WILL SPRAY PAINT ANYTHING. FROM THRIFTY DECOR CHICK Amber Filkins April 8, 2009 at 2:24 AM. I spray paint anything & everything too, but NEVER would have thought {or dared} to spray paint bamboo shades! Those look awesome. Definitely love the chocolate brown. My room is chocolate brown & white, with splashes of blue.LOVE.
HOW TO LINE DRAPES (WITH WHAT YOU HAVE) FROM THRIFTY DECOR The big thing here – you need to lay your fabric with the print side down. If you’re doing a pillow, both printed sides need to face each other. When you’re done you’ll pull it back inside out so the good sides are out. This hides your seam: I don’t pin the whole thing to start – just the top. THRIFTY DECOR CHICKSHOP MY HOMEPROJECTSWORK WITH MECHRISTMASSPRAYPAINTCLEANING

Otherwise they run hot and that wills shorten the life of the components. Also, your remotes won't work through a wood cabinet door, but will through metal sheeting. You can also use an RF remote control system that allows you to keep HOW TO SPRAY PAINT KITCHEN HARDWARE {AND SAVE TONS OF Step one: Prep your hardware well. I worked in shifts -- I would remove four handles at a time. I left the screws in the cabinets so there was no worry about misplacing them. I used a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the hardware well. There's no need to use cleaners unless you have grease build up or something stuck. HOW TO UTILIZE THE DEAD SPACE IN A CLOSET FROM THRIFTY You just need to secure your supports (a 1x2 is perfect) into studs or anchors on the back wall and sides, then nail a board into those. BUILDING CABINETS UP TO THE CEILING FROM THRIFTY DECOR CHICK The hard part of every project like this is figuring out the sizing of the boards to make the boxes. I spend most of my time perfecting that. I stand with a tape measure and notebook and draw pictures of what I want to do and end up scratching most of it out before I get to thefinal.
EASY AND CHEAP WAY TO "FROST" WINDOWS FOR PRIVACY FROM Here's how it looks from the inside: There are window privacy films you can try that work well as well, but they are more expensive. You can also use spray paints -- this frosted spray paint is for windows, and this mirrored spray works as well. But they take a lot more prep and time. I can whip this out in ten minutes and a whole roll is $6 USING ALL OF THE CLOSET SPACE FROM THRIFTY DECOR CHICK Exactly. It's pretty amazing that I stuffed all of that in a closet and under the bed. I counted 23 pillows that I found in that room – TWENTY THREE! Old decorative pillows, filler pillows and bed pillows. Twentythree. I haven’t cleaned out this room in a long time, obviously. So after the purging it was on to the next phase. DIY CRAFTSMAN WINDOW TRIM FROM THRIFTY DECOR CHICK That should help if you’d like to try this yourself! Remember the 1x2 and stop up on top and the stool on the bottom will be a bit wider than the other pieces. The ones on top are 1/4 inch longer on both sides and the stool on the bottom is 1/2 longer on both ends. Here’s a shot of the before again: HOW TO BUILD BUILT INS FROM THRIFTY DECOR CHICK At least it feels like it. I am painting the back of the built ins a different color, so I’ll do that next. Then we need to install the header across the top, pull the wiring through and install the lights. Then the trim will go up (basically everywhere) and after that the JOYUS job of priming and painting. :) HOW TO FINISH AND PROTECT WOOD COUNTERS AROUND A SINK FROM Two to three coats of Tung oil is recommended, I used two and it's protecting the wood wonderfully. I like to reapply every six months to a year, but I've waited years in between coats and it held up so well. I made sure to really rub it into the cut wood around the sink, as well as around the faucet: QUICK TIP: BROKEN COMMAND STRIPS REMOVAL FROM THRIFTY Just so you know. ;) So you take the floss behind the plastic part -- if you can get it behind the sticky stuff, do it! USING ALL OF THE CLOSET SPACE FROM THRIFTY DECOR CHICK Oooh, I really hate how most closets are built. You are so right about so much wasted space. HOW TO FINISH AND PROTECT WOOD COUNTERS AROUND A SINK FROM There will be some residue from the steel wool, but using a wet rag would pop the wood again, so a tack cloth is helpful here. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2019 LUXURY HOME TOUR THREE {DON'T MISS THE GREAT ROOM!} Hello my friends! I'm back today with the final installment from this year's Indy Home-A-Rama. You can see the first luxury home tour (with one of my favorite homes) and the second modern home tour (I loved it so much it got it's own post) if you missed any ofthose!
Of these last two, one was my least favorite and the other I really loved because of the great room. It was awesome! I don't have many pics of the fourth home to share but I did love the front porch!: _This home was built and designed by Whicker Construction_ I mean, _really_ love it! It was so grand and I loved the double porches on either side. This little office/homework room was really cool as well. I liked that dark blue gray color on the cabinets: I mentioned in the first tour that there were quite a few trends I noticed throughout each home, and the deep cabinet color and wallpaper in this room were two of them. It's funny because this kitchen was my least favorite, but was stillreally beautiful!:
I think I would have loved it more if they had all open shelves on top or all cabinets...it felt busy to me this way. The stairs to the basement were SUPER cool -- open stairs always kind of freak me out, but these didn't have a huge opening: I really loved the modern feel, especially for a basement. The fifth home had the great room I loved. The exterior was probably my least favorite, but I did love those black windows!: _This home was built by Gradison Design Build_ The basement walls were covered with this vertical paneling -- the color and height helped it to feel more contemporary: I loved this little bar/nook! The shelves in front of the mirror were a nice touch and the sconces lining the wall were fun: I really loved the white bathroom with these large black framedmirrors:
I always wonder if sconces in the bathroom would be enough light. They sure are pretty though! Another gray bedroom -- told you they were everywhere!: This cool wall treatment in the stairway paired perfectly with themodern railings:
You know how much I love a window seat!: This great room was SO awesome -- so spacious! I loved the planked ceiling and wood beams: This room was HUGE! The kitchen was mostly gray as well, but the open feel kept it light and bright: This room was pretty sparse -- some plants or wood cutting boards on the counters would have warmed it up. The laundry room was so pretty -- it felt a little "sweeter" than the rest of the house but I loved the cabinet color and the tile: If you've seen all of the home tours, did you have a favorite? All of them were gorgeous! Be sure to check out the other tours (linked above) if you missed those. I'm off to work on the master bedroom makeover! I
wanted to finish it up before November 1 -- I'm just a little behind.:)
