I have been reading praise for Shiva Baby for months on Twitter so I couldn’t resist seeing what all the fuss was about and everyone is right – this film is awesome. 2021 – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY Toxic masculinity has come under the spotlight in the last few years so naturally films addressing the issue come along, such as Here Arethe Young Men.
2021 – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY Wild Mountain Thyme was ridiculed on social media over the cast’s dodgy Irish accents in the trailer late last year and I held back and decided to give the movie the benefit of the doubt and judge it in itsentirety.
PINK – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY Pink had to postpone a tour date in Birmingham, UK, last month due to illness. The singer managed to complete the other UK dates on the Truth About Love tour, so the Birmingham concert-goers were a bitpeeved.
HERE ARE THE YOUNG MEN: FILM REVIEW Here are the Young Men takes a while to get going but eventually becomes quite a shocking and thrilling watch. I didn’t agree with all the surreal flourishes but it was quite a powerful piece. On digital platforms from Friday 30th April and DVD from 10th May. Rating: 3 out of 5. Like this: SCHOOL’S OUT FOREVER: FILM REVIEW This is quite a lightweight movie – all the characters, even Lee, are thinly written; you don’t really know an awful lot about them, and the story just descends into madness once the parish council start their war with the school. Then it becomes just nonIBRAHIMA GUEYE
In this Italian-language film, directed by Loren’s son Edoardo Ponti, the legendary Italian actress plays Madame Rosa, an ageing Holocaust survivor and retired prostitute who is now a foster mom of sorts to children of other sex workers. She agrees to look after Momo ( Ibrahima Gueye ), a 12-year-old Muslim orphan originally fromSenegal
THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY May 21, 2021. Billie Piper has come a long way since her days of being a pop star and Doctor Who’s assistant. She has proved herself as a phenomenal actress on the stage and now she’s made her directorial debut with Rare Beasts, which she also wrote and stars in. 2021 – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY I always try to get tickets to a couple of films during the BFI Flare festival – a film festival that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community – because you can usually find some gems and the lovely Sweetheart certainly didn’t disappoint. 2021 – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY I have been hearing nothing but praise for Minari for a really long time – basically since it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year – so I had been dying to watch it for months and I had built my expectations ridiculously high, so when I finally got around to see it, I could appreciate how beautiful and amazing it was, but Iwas expecting more.

THE FATHER: FILM REVIEW While most people were shocked by Anthony Hopkins’ Best Actor win back in April, I was thrilled because I had been campaigning for him to win for his heartbreaking performance in The Father since I saw it earlier this year.. The Father, co-written and directed by Florian Zeller from his 2012 play La Pere, tells the story of Anthony (Hopkins) and his battle with dementia and shows his SHIVA BABY: FILM REVIEW have been reading praise for Shiva Baby for months on Twitter so I couldn’t resist seeing what all the fuss was about and everyone is right – this film is awesome.NOBODY: FILM REVIEW
I didn’t have the greatest of expectations for Nobody, I thought it was going to be some cheap John Wick knock-off with an odd choice of action star but I take it all back because Nobody was LAND – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY I’ve always rated Robin Wright as an actress so I was keen to see how she fared behind the camera and I thought her feature directorial debut Land told a beautiful and moving story.. Following a horrific tragedy, a bereaved woman named Edee (Wright) buys a remote mountainside cabin in the middle of the Wyoming wilderness and gets rid of her phone and car so she is completely off the grid andSTEPHEN MERCHANT
The Girl in the Spider’s Web had an uphill battle to impress me from the beginning because I’ve always really wanted more instalments from the Rooney Mara-David Fincher team rather than what is essentially a reboot with a new director and actress.I also wasn’t convinced about the casting of Claire Foy as Lisbeth Salander, and while she may have changed my mind a little bit, the film THE PARTY’S JUST BEGINNING: FILM REVIEW I enjoy Karen Gillan‘s performances in films like Jumanji and the Guardians of the Galaxy/Avengers so I was intrigued to see what she’d come up with for her directorial debut, The Party’s Just Beginning, which she also wrote and stars in.I have to admit I wasn’t expecting it to be such a dark film. She plays Liusaidh, a supermarket employee who spends her nights partying hard, drinking SAS: RED NOTICE: FILM REVIEW I wasn’t originally intending to check out SAS: Red Notice because it looked like a mindless action blockbuster with little substance but I was swayed by the star-studded cast and gave it a watch – and my original assumption was correct. The film, directed by Magnus Martens, stars Sam Heughan as Tom Buckingham, an ex-Special Forces soldier JIGSAW: IN DEFENCE OF THE EARLY SAW MOVIES Yes, there are some gross bits as we follow the detectives trying to track the elusive Jigsaw serial killer, who doesn’t actually kill anyone but sets traps so his victims kill themselves, and we see flashbacks of some of his previous games, like Amanda and the reverse bear trap and the fat dude in the razor wire cage. Most people will also think of Dr. Gordon sawing off his own foot, which CALL ME BY YOUR NAME: FILM REVIEW If you liked Luca Guadagnino‘s previous film A Bigger Splash, you’re going to love Call Me By Your Name.It has a very similar feel, same sexual/romantic themes and setting – Brits/Americans living in sun-drenched Europe – but it’s way more satisfying THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY May 21, 2021. MUSIC – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY I am a huge Taylor Swift fan – I have been to three of her tours (her concerts were so amazing), I know her past three albums very well and I care about what she has to say, so naturally, I had to check out Miss Americana on the day it was released on Netflix. REVIEWS – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY 120 BPM (Beats Per Minute): Film Review. There have been a few films about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the 80s/90s, with examples springing to mind like Philadelphia and The Normal Heart, but 120 BPM feels completely fresh, perhaps because it is French, the actors feel like real people, like it could be a documentary, and because it focuses on CONTACT – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY Please feel free to get in touch – all feedback is appreciated! BEYONCE – THE WORLD OF CELEBRITY Madonna has dropped the music video to Bitch I’m Madonna and people are pegging it as a rival Taylor Swift‘s star-studded promo for Bad Blood but it doesn’t even come close, despite having way bigger names. For a start, Madonna’s came out exclusively on Tidal, which is a pain in the arse in itself and half of these celebs weren’t actually at the filming – they were just added WITHOUT REMORSE: FILM REVIEW Without Remorse is very much a conventional action thriller which doesn’t show us anything we haven’t seen before, with the exception of the performances (which I’ll get to soon). It is perfectly watchable and held my attention for the most part, but Jordan and his cast members deserved a movie that’s a cut above youraverage and mixes

And since I’ve already shared my review with you, I thought I’d celebrate its release by sharing these pictures I took of the costumes from the movie inside London’s Odeon Leicester Square recently. DANIEL DAY-LEWIS FILMS NEW PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON MOVIE IN The film is set in the fashion world in 1950s London and stars a dressmaker who is commissioned to design costumes for the royal family and members of high society, so it makes sense for them to shoot on Fitzroy Square as it is beautiful and very old-fashioned. In the square, I spotted an old red London bus filled with extras and tworegular
