THE TOY BOX: G.I. JOE CLASSIFIED: RUN CHANGES AND VARIANTS Just when you thought it wouldn't get any more difficult to find the new G.I. Joe Classified series, Hasbro throws a curve ball. Both a run change and variant have been identified for the line, and hardcore collectors are on the hunt. THE TOY BOX: PRINT PUTTY (AKA SECRET PRINT PUTTY) (COLORFORMS) Print Putty (AKA Secret Print Putty) Colorforms 1966 We don't touch on the Colorforms brand as often as we could here at The Toy Box, but one thing is for certain, the toys that they made were a lot of fun - If not simply for the fact that so many were odd and obscure. THE TOY BOX: ETERNIA DREAMS VINTAGE TOY STORE I was interested in picking up the 1982 / 1983 G.I. Joe Carry Case which was sitting on top of this shelf, but was immediately turned offby the price tag
THE TOY BOX: THE UNCANNY X-MEN (AKA X-MEN) (TOY BIZ) The Uncanny X-Men Toy Biz 1991-1998 When it comes to incredibly large lines, Toy Biz's The Uncanny X-Men certainly stands out as a line tobe reckoned with.
THE TOY BOX: SPECLATRON (S & T SALES) Speclatron S & T Sales 1984 I don't normally talk about knock-off's here at The Toy Box, but these ones caught my eye, and I felt really inclined to try and track them down - Which was not easy. THE TOY BOX: G.I. JOE CLASSIFIED: THE BARONESS WITH COBRA Today I'm wrapping up the elusive Target exclusive Cobra Island (wave three), with a look at the last figure in the bunch, The Baroness. This figure / vehicle combo pack was a nightmare to track down. With no stores receiving it until August 14th, or after, it has certainly been the most challenging to obtain, and the most expensive on secondarymarkets.
THE TOY BOX: STAR WARS Kicking off our month long Star Wars Extravaganza, we start where what many people consider to be the return of Star Wars (though I never personally got the memo that it had left to begin with) - 1995's Power of the Force II line. THE TOY BOX: FOOD FIGHTERS (MATTEL) i dont know. but i heard this story that the desinger (for a new food fighter who was a cake guy) made a design for the guy but was never made due to cancelation. and then his friend saw the designs and 3D printed them. but the guy who drew the designs never gave him permission to make them so they had a fight. they ended up deciding that they would make 5 of the cake guy and 2 color THE TOY BOX: STAR WARS We continue our month long celebration with a look at the figures based on the highly (over) anticipated film Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Ever since word broke that Lucas was working on a new Star Wars Trilogy, fans clambered to get insights, merchandise, and rumor milled tidbits of what exactly the film was going to be about. THE TOY BOX: BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II SKATEBOARD (VALTERRA) Back To The Future Part II Valterra 1989 While I was by no means a skateboarder, I had one in the 80's. Didn't we all? I think they were state issued across the USA for anyone between the ages of eight andeighteen.

***Not much time is left on this contest, tomorrow is the last day. Based on the minimal entries for this contest, I am assuming that interest is dwindling in winning free stuff, so I won't be running a January 2021 contest. THE TOY BOX: RETRO SPINS: GARY NUMAN By the time Gary Numan went solo in 1979, he had already released two albums with his band, Tubeway Army, which featured Numan on Vocals, THE TOY BOX: G.I. JOE CLASSIFIED WAVE 4 The hat is fortunately sculpted with hair jutting out the back of it, so the character doesn't stay bald when on. While I appreciate the homage to the original figure, which was sculpted with a baseball cap on, I do prefer it sans hat. THE TOY BOX: SUPER HEROES COOKIES (NABISCO) In 1984, Nabisco started the final campaign of cookies which consisted of all new Supergirl shaped cookies and boxes. What made these particular snacks collectible were the various super sized trading cards located on the back of each box. THE TOY BOX: G.I. JOE CLASSIFIED COBRA ISLAND FIREFLY AND It's also interesting to note that Firefly is figure 21, and Cobra Viper is figure 22. For those of you keeping up with the series, you know that Profit Director Destro was figure number 15, and Hasbo has only announced four new figures so far for 2021 (in addition to thesetwo) -

THE TOY BOX: FREDDY (LJN / ENTERTECH) The final two pieces released in the line were under LJN's Entertech Brand. Yes, the company behind all of those awesome water guns from the 80's which looked and, with a little imagination, sounded like areal gun.
THE TOY BOX: I GUESS MAJOR BLUDD IS COMING George over at G.I. Jigsaw pointed me towards this one. Looks like a seller on ebay has the upcoming Major Bludd figure in hand from G.I. Joe Classified, and it will apparently be a Target exclusive. THE TOY BOX: STAR WARS We continue our month long celebration with a look at the figures based on the highly (over) anticipated film Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Ever since word broke that Lucas was working on a new Star Wars Trilogy, fans clambered to get insights, merchandise, and rumor milled tidbits of what exactly the film was going to be about. THE TOY BOX: G.I. JOE CLASSIFIED COBRA ISLAND MAJOR BLUDD Flipping the package over, you'll see that all too familiar Cobra Island map, this time highlighting two different locations from those of the first and second waves of figures. As I look at the map, I have to scratch my head and wonder why they're bothering with this type ofpackaging.
THE TOY BOX: THE DIRTY DOZEN: THE MOST OVERPLAYED SONGS OF However, as 2020 and 2021 shuffled along, another arose to take that mantle. I'll get to that number one most overplayed song of all time in a moment, but first, there are two honorable mentions which almost made this list. Those are, Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven, and Bruce Springsteen's Dancing In The Dark. THE TOY BOX: THE UNCANNY X-MEN (AKA X-MEN) (TOY BIZ) The Uncanny X-Men. Toy Biz. 1991-1998. When it comes to incredibly large lines, Toy Biz's The Uncanny X-Men certainly stands out as a line to be reckoned with. In it's eight year span, the series managed to churn out seven series of basic figures, a few vehicles and playsets, and about two hundred figures related to various sub seriesand gift
THE TOY BOX: G.I. JOE CLASSIFIED: RUN CHANGES AND VARIANTS The first run, or circle head, as I'll call it, is seeing a price point of forty to sixty dollars. The flat head, as I'll call it, stays relatively around retail at twenty to twenty three dollars. The variant figure comes from the elusive Target exclusive Cobra Island wave. Beach Head has been found to be released with both brown andblue eyes.

THE TOY BOX: STAR WARS Star Wars - 12 Inch Collector Series (Kenner/Hasbro) With the death of the original 12" Star Wars "dolls" occurring so quickly in the early 80's, it was a surprise to many collectors to see Kenner re-launch the series with the Power of the Force II line. Unlike their predecessors, these new dolls showed a great amount of articulation, and were THE TOY BOX: THE BEATLES (REMCO) George Harrison. Ringo Starr. Remco continued their Big Head series with other notable characters, but never came back to The Beatles for updated looks. These days the figures are fairly common, but still rather pricey. An entire set typically sells THE TOY BOX: STAR WARS Anakin Skywalker, Aunt Beru, C-3PO. There are no known variants for these cards. The final waves of the Power of the Force II series ran from 1999 to 2000. By this time, Hasbro was well into production of the new Episode I toy line, and Power of the Force II THE TOY BOX: STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE (KENNER) Strawberry Shortcake. Kenner. 1979 - 1985. It's very hard to make an "action figure" line marketed towards girls - The reason being that most girls don't play with them. They're more into dolls and accessorizing, and things of that nature. Despite the odds, Kenner made repeated attempts at these types of toys geared towards younggirls.
THE TOY BOX: AIR RAIDERS (HASBRO) Developed by Hasbro in 1987, the series of toys focused on the inhabitants of the distant world of Airlandia. The Air Raiders battle against the evil Tyrants of Wind who have taken control of the planet's air supply by force. Despite the odds, the Air Raiders wage a THE TOY BOX: G.I. THE TOY BOX: RETRO SPINS: BIG COUNTRY It was the early New Millennium when I was first introduced to Big Country via a compilation album, which for the life of me I can't remember the title for, nor find an image of which puts the puzzle piece in place as to which one it was. THE TOY BOX: ETERNIA DREAMS VINTAGE TOY STORE However, that day kept getting further and further away from a reality, to the point it felt like it wasn't going to happen at all. Fortunately, that was rectified today. At a glance, Eternia Dreams is a small little shop located in the heart of a tiny town, which if you blinked you'd miss it - THE TOY BOX: MARVEL AGE COMIC SPECTACULARS (GOLDEN RECORDS) You'll easily pay over a thousand dollars for the comics alone in this series. Several thousands for higher end condition books. However, if you're going to spend $4,000.00 on a 7.0 or above The Amazing Spider-Man #1 Golden Record edition, may I suggest you instead just take that money and purchase a first print of the original book in a3.0 condition.
THE TOY BOX: THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION NOBODY ASKED Answer: At the bottom of the bag. If you want a combination of both flavors you're definitely going to have to dig deep - Or you're already at the bottom of the bag, which just makes me sad. Taste wise, Cracker Jack popcorn is crunchy with a delicious candy coating. It has a nice caramel flavor and the husks get stuck in your teeth quitenicely.
