Hidden Temple of Heaven 2021 Update. by Matthew Cooper January 28, 2021. written by Matthew Cooper. Back again with another re-edit. The first image is the new 2021 edit and the second on is from 2012. The worst part of the original is the duplicated stars from a poor multi-image blend. DISNEY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS & TUTORIALS This video walks you through editing Disney World photos using advanced Photoshop techniques. This week we walk you through editing a 5 shot HDR bracket using Lightroom, Photomatix and Photoshop. We also discuss the importance of RAW, cleaning up JPG artifacts and more in the advanced portion of the video. We'd love to hear your feedback sobe

This shot was another fun exercise in correcting the wrongs of Disney’s lighting team. Once again, the lighting team dug into their warehouse of discountTOY STORY SUNSET
I took several shots from this spot as the sunset including several with Slinky Dog in the frame. Ultimately the Slinky Dog blocked some of the glorious sunsetBLACK SPIRE FALCON
I have posted a few shots from this area already, but this is my first that is your standard sort of framing for the scene. It is a no brainer kind of shot but still a lot of fun to edit as it just looks really awesome (minus the blue lighting but I digress.) TOMORROW IS BRIGHT BUT SURROUNDED BY DARKNESS Alright it’s time for me to venture back to my Disneyland shots. It’s been nearly 3 years since my one and only trip and I have gone back and re-edited some shots I wasn’t happy with along with a bunchof “new” shots.
THE OMINOUS SPLASH MOUNTAIN Each sunset is special, but sometimes you get an extra special one. I often chase the sunset through the park to Splash Mountain and I’vebeen rewarded
BLUE LEADER, READY FOR TAKEOFF I had the fisheye lens on when approaching this shot and the cast members were pushing for exit so I just went with it. I think it worked out as I like the framing of the rock work at the bottom that I probably would have excluded with a different lens. ONE OF MY LEGS IS LONGER THAN THE OTHER More weird angles from me I blame it on my extra long leg. In reality I was trying to use the compass arrows as a guide for the bottom corner of the frame and MICKEY & MINNIE’S GREAT MOVIE RIDE I had literally just setup for this shot and started my first exposure when it started sprinkling. By the time I had taken my second exposure (for the sign) it was turning into an absolute washout.DISNEY PHOTOGRAPHY

PINOCCHIO’S DARING JOURNEY IN A CAGEby Matthew Cooper
September 2, 2019
written by Matthew Cooper Looping back to some Disneyland shots as I still have a bunch I never processed or shared. In particularly I wanted to do some of the dark ride shots. I take so many dark ride shots and then share probably .1% of them, which seems ridiculous. I did very minimal processing to this one. A quick color balance, a warming filter and some denoising to the shadow areas. Enjoy. __September 2, 2019 __0 comment__0 __Facebook

THE MAGIC BEHIND THE CASTLEby Matthew Cooper
August 20, 2019
written by Matthew Cooper This is an alternate take on a shot I did last year that I really liked. This time around I have a different color scheme on the castle along with some dreamlights. The sky is clear of fireworks and I’ve edited it to feel a bit moodier. By the way, if you still haven’t ordered yours yet you can order at https://www.thetimethespace.com/product/wdw-2020-calendar/ Special discounted pricing will end after August 31st and supplies are limited so don’t miss out if you want one! __August 20, 2019 __0 comment__0 __Facebook

IT’S DINO-NIGHT
by Matthew Cooper
July 10, 2019
written by Matthew Cooper This photo harkens back to a better time. A time before Walt Disney World’s light designer got an amazing deal on a warehouse full of blue lights and then proceeded to bathe the entire Kingdom in its awful blueness. It would be nice to see a return to competent nighttime light design. Thanks for listening and enjoy. __July 10, 2019 __0 comment__0 __Facebook

A DREAM KISS GOODNIGHTby Matthew Cooper
June 3, 2019
written by Matthew Cooper I have many shots like this from the hub, so I wanted to try something different to mix it up. I opted to blend a frame of the castle with the Dreamlights with a frame of the kiss goodnight. This look sort of emulates the look you get as the lights cascade on and off and twinkle during the kiss goodnight. If nothing else I think it looks super cool on Cinderella Castle. __June 3, 2019 __0 comment__0 __Facebook

TO DUMP WOULD BE AN AWFULLY BIG ADVENTUREby Matthew Cooper
May 21, 2019
written by Matthew Cooper Here’s another shot with the Rokinon 12mm fisheye. I like how it curves the frame just a bit here along with the lights in the upper left corner. I ended up doing a slight crop removing some space from the right and the bottom that made it just right. Enjoy. __May 21, 2019 __0 comment__0 __Facebook

ARCHES OF FANTASY & CINDERELLA CASTLEby Matthew Cooper
May 10, 2019
written by Matthew Cooper The Rokinon 12mm 2.8 fisheye lens I use is the cheapest lens I own, but also probably the most fun to shoot with. The image quality is good (but not quite great) paired with the Z7 . My biggest complaint I suppose is that the front element tends to come loose and then the images are out of focus. If you aren’t pixel peeping, you may not notice the shots aren’t tack sharp. I had this happen on a few different occasions during the week. But again, for a $375 lens purchase I can overlook these shortcomings for what it does offer. Most exciting of all is the ability to get compositions like this one that just don’t work as well with a regular wide-angle lens. __May 10, 2019 __0 comment__0 __Facebook

FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOONby Matthew Cooper
May 1, 2019
written by Matthew Cooper Here’s a shot that’s become popular over the past few years. Unfortunately, I did not have a fisheye for my FX camera until very recently, so I never took one of my own. Consider that rectified today. One thing I found particularly interesting the colors that popped off the moon as I increased the color contrast. An unexpected surprise I think looks really cool. Enjoy! __May 1, 2019 __0 comment__1 __Facebook
