HOME — THE PLEATED POPPY Since it seems like we will never ever ever until the end of time get to build our house (WHY IS THE PERMIT PROCESS SO DANG LONG?!), I am turning my focus to the home we live in now. TUTORIAL — THE PLEATED POPPY One of my more popular posts from years ago was when I painted a sweet vintage dresser from white to mustard yellow.. French Pale Gold by Behr, to be exact. It was a total statement piece, and generally stood in our entryway, so it was a bright sunny welcome to everyone! a couple weeks ago, the girls and i spent a day making terrariums together. we shopped the house for glass containers, then got a couple large ones from target. we used vases (short and tall), ma DIY BOOK PAGE MOBILE anthropologie’s window displays are ever-inspiring! did you ever see this amazing display made entirely of book pages?. i am blessed to have the job of designing displays in our school office and also our school’s thrift store.. i have been wanting to mimic anthro’s book page display for so long, and now i had the chance to!NEW HOUSE: FRAMING
I was really hoping to document this whole house build process as we went along, but it has all been going SO quickly and keeping me SO busy, I rarely even have time to post a quick picture to Instagram!! The framing on our house started at the beginning of September. 3 TIERED TRAY TUTORIAL That is an AWESOME tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m off to make one now (and to pin it). My bathroom needs it. BTW – what wonderful parents you have to create something like that for you andyour family.
EXTERIOR SIDING: HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL You were all so helpful (and all in complete agreement!) with my last post about our future house. I agree, the slanted porch roof is the way to go, and it is currently getting redesigned! Just a clarification, the porch roof would have had a slight slant to it to run the water off, but not much at all. Once the forms were filled and smoothed, rebar was placed vertically in the wet cement, which would be later bent down to tie in with the slab. Next came the rocks and sand – piles of it! The rocks and sand were spread out. Then the moisture barrier.MEET LINDSEY
