THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE
Welcome to theoryofknowledge.net. We’ve been supporting learners and educators for 12 years, and have members in over 100 different countries. TOK is an extraordinary course, and requires an extraordinary resource to deliver it. Our mission is to make TOK a life-changing and empowering experience for students and teachersalike.
TOK OPTIONAL THEMES
The TOK themes & assessment. Your understanding of the core and optional themes is assessed primarily via the exhibition, whereas your knowledge of the AOKs is assessed via the essay.Having said this, you should always remember that knowledge is interlinked and interdependent, so you should never envisage the themes (and areas of knowledge) as existing independently from each other. BIG QUESTION FRAMEWORK The Big Question framework. The ‘Big Question’ framework is our way of organizing TOK, exploring its different elements, and delivering a highly integrated, engaging TOK scheme of work. It is similar to the ‘official’ knowledge framework, but offers several advantages, which we outline below. The BQ framework is based on 6questions
TOK EXHIBITION OBJECTS The three TOK exhibition objects demonstrate how TOK manifests itself in the real world. We discuss what that means on this page. TOK EXHIBITION RUBRIC The TOK exhibition rubric. After understanding the basic requirements of the exhibition, your next step is to grasp how it is evaluated and marked, which is outlined in the ‘assessment instrument’. Your TOK teacher will give you a copy of this, or you can find it online in the2022 TOK Guide.
