THE MAKERISTA
The lower sunroom has really come a long way, and in the midst of styling and trying to work out the minor details, it’s always great for me to look back at what was pre reno and what it looked like whenwe moved in.

I took a nod from the dining room trees to set the table for Christmas, using a mix of blues and some new green dishes I thrifted last week. The wicker HOW TO HANG ART FROM PICTURE RAIL If you follow me on Instagram, I did a story a few weekends ago about hanging this thrifted find in our master. Our bedroom had picture rail in it when we moved in. I’ve never hung anything from picture rail, but have always loved the look and versatility that comes with it. THE LAUNDRY ROOM: THE CABINETS The big, farmhouse sink gave us the perfect opportunity to create a little platform for Hank’s food and water bowls. The symmetrical cabinets on either side have pull out bins for dog food and a laundry hamper for cleaning clothes, clothes too dirty to wait to come off upstairs, and the kitchen towels at the end of each day. ONE ROOM CHALLENGE: PARISIAN GIRLS ROOM: THE REVEAL One Room Challenge: Parisian Girls Room: The Reveal. Seven weeks have flown by and we’ve turned Milly’s room from a space that was rather sad to a room that gives you all the feels! Thank you all for the nice recommendations for this past weekend! My girlfriends and I had an amazing time and ate and drank all the things. The weather was incredible, and we did our best to spend as much time outside as possible. That included a hike up Camelback Mountain. We only made it halfway and later found out the trail we tried was one of the hardest in Phoenix. Probably not the TIPS FOR AVOIDING A COOKIE-CUTTER NEW BUILD Thank you for all of the kind comments on the new build reveal! It was such a great project to work on, and today I’m going to talk about how we avoided cookie-cutter results and created a home that will stand the test of time. While Grant was thrilled with the idea of building, Sara had reservations. She wanted something with character and wasn’t a fan of the builder-grade look you come LAURA'S LIVING ROOM: IKEA BILLY BOOKSHELVES HACK In case you missed the reveal, you can see that here and here. Laura’s home already had wonderful, historic bones, but the living space could use a bit more character. We’ve been slowly plugging along on our master refresh, and today I wanted to share a glimpse of the progress. We started with the beautiful chests as our jumping off point. Because they are so detailed and special, I knew the bed needed to be a bit more subdued. I liked the idea of an upholstered piece to bring MAKING A HOME: A UNIQUE WAY TO DISPLAY COLLECTABLES I talked about it a bit in this guest post, but when I was little all 3 of us kids collected something. My sister collected thimbles, my brother collected cars, planes, and trains and I collected makeup compacts. I loved finding unique ones, and acquired quite the collection over the years. As a jilted bride she decides to freeze time, keeping her home and herself looking exactly as they did the day she was left at the alter.
