Details Details. No wedding is complete without all of the fun little details. Using family heirlooms or furnishings is one of our favorite tricks. Nothing personalizes a wedding more than using something from home. Create charming, warm, and inviting spaces, by including mementos from your relationship. Every little detail sets your wedding THE TRUTH ABOUT THE HOLLY CHICKEN WIRE EGG The egg form grid kept the blooms separated so that each stem could shine and be seen and not smashed together. As I was designing I was screaming, “it’s working, it’s working.”. I honestly cried with relief as the beautiful bouquet was born. CABBAGE ROSES COMPARED TO TRADITIONAL ROSES The only difference between the two designs was the amount of roses I was able to use. I had intended to make the design with 24 of the same pale peach roses but I actually ran out of the soft peach roses and added in 5 of a stronger coral tone.HOLLY CHAPPLE

But it’s still all aboutflowers.
STANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY If you have been following along you will know today is the day we address the fees associated with delivery, set up and breakdown. I call set up labor and delivery (mom of 7, hence my terminology for what others call set up). The Full Bouquet Blog. 02.21.2014 Holly Chapple PodCast Interview With Debra Prinzing – BTW Debra Is Coming To NYC THE STANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY Something crazy started happening a few years back in the floral wedding industry and the consequences have affected all of us. The desire to get published STANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY PART THREE Today we will tackle event design, rentals, and SAMPLES. I know, samples are the big issue. Let’s see what we can resolve together. Rental & Container Pricing I do not currently charge a rental fee for items that we are flowering such as candelabras, vases, arches, chuppahs, and mandaps. The price associated with the design is inclusive of the use of my props or containers. STANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY PART 1 Earlier this year I suggested the creation of a document called the Standards of The Industry.You can read more about that here.The purpose of this document is to shed a little light on the business practices of event floral designers. A TREND SETTING PHOTO SHOOT This one is magic, true magic!! I am so thoroughly proud of this shoot and the work that was accomplished here in our gardens. Many thanks to photographer Anne Robert, and to Dawn Crothers Cimino of Something Vintage Rentals, together we all collaborated and styled an amazing creation right in the middle of our garden. Many thanks also to Evan who ran the leaf blower, the fog machine, and then CHAPEL DESIGNER WORKSHOP For the last 3 days I have huddled around my computer with 8 of the newest Chapel Designers. Thankfully my good friend and fellow Chapel Designer Alicia Schwede was with me. BETTY & ANTHONY FEATURED IN WEDDINGS UNVEILED MAGAZINE The latest issue of Weddings Unveiled has just been released and it’s absolutely sumptuous. Thankfully this very incredible issue also features one of our weddings. The wedding of Betty and Anthony. I have been holding onto the images from this wedding for almost anentire year.

CHAPEL DESIGNER WORKSHOP Melissa Stewart, Artistry Boston Many of the flowers used in this workshop were sourced from Don’s Dahlia’s, my garden or from Lynnvale. Thankfully we even had time on our first day to talk with Andrea, tour my gardens, and we even headed to Don’s house.FEATURED FLOWERS
Anemones come in hot pink, purple, red, white, and a blue purple. I have a love-hate relationship with these flowers. I love the color and shape of the bloom but I have often been disappointed by the quality of this flower on many occasions.HOLLY CHAPPLE

I then zip tied the branches onto the chicken wire. This gave the design the most fabulous movement and texture. THE STANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY Something crazy started happening a few years back in the floral wedding industry and the consequences have affected all of us. DESIGN TIME, BIRTHDAY TIME, AND IN THE COOLER Last week was a huge production week for our studio. So much so that I simply neglected to do my “in the cooler” post. I also figured since it was Feb. you would not have been expecting it anyways, but oh boy, did we ever have a full cooler. Many thanks also to Evan who ran the leaf blower, the fog machine, and then -------------------------* Holly Chapple

A few weeks ago, I proudly introduced our NEW DIY CENTERPIECE PACKAGE. I
partnered with 46 & SPRUCE to make a complete DIY kit, which granted you access to my online training and shipped two pillows and two compotes to your door. But it wasn’t truly “complete”; a major component was missing:flowers.
For locals, we decided TO OFFER A LIMITED NUMBER OF OUR EDUCATION AND HARDGOOD PACKAGES _WITH _FLOWERS for pick up from Hope Flower Farm. We immediately received feedback from many of you that you wished we could ship flowers. We wished wecould, too.
And now we can. Thanks to our friends at POPPY.
I’m thrilled to announce that in partnership with Poppy, we are able to ship a custom, #Hollyish recipe of flowers right to your door. Poppy worked closely with flower farms to source flowers that pair perfectly with my education on making a centerpiece. HTTPS://WWW.YOURPOPPY.COM/CATEGORY/POPPY-AT-HOME Besides the joy of offering a truly complete DIY package, I’m excited to be partnering with Poppy and supporting flower farms. Poppy’s CEO and Founder Cameron Hardesty is a close friend and inspiration. We initially bonded over our mutual love for master florist GREGOR LERSCH;
now we’re bonding over the mission of making flowers accessible for everyone–for their home and big events. (Fun fact — we first met years ago when our mutual friend Laura Dowling invited us both to help her prepare July 4th decorations on the South Lawn of The WhiteHouse!)
Cameron is also conscious of the entire lifecycle of flowers. She understands why I’m always chanting “We can’t forget the growers!” as a cornerstone lesson in my education about this industry. Cameron has learned from her travels that the flower business brings economic activity and possibility to the country and people who need it most. As she wrote in A RECENT BLOG POST:
“Empowering women, in particular, through the floral supply chain has been at the core of mission since day one.” We’re excited to work with Poppy because they support growers with every product they create, including ours. I started the #OneBloom initiative on social media because I believe everyone should have flowers in their home right now, to feel the hope they bring. There is something therapeutic about handling flowers, refreshing their water, and seeing their light fill a room. Thanks to Poppy, the hope of flowers can come right to your door.
