This week we created three diy construction sites for our crazy energetic toddlers to enjoy outside. They are oh-so-simple, and pretty inexpensive as well. We have this space at the side of our house. It is about 8 feet wide and 40 feet long. HOW TO TILE A FLOOR OR WALL: A BEGINNER’S GUIDE Cutting the Tile. Tile can be cut using a wet saw or a manual tile cutter (that scores and snaps the tile). I recommend a tile saw. We have used this little Ryobi for I think six years now, and through I believe 6 bathrooms, 4 kitchens, and 1 fireplace. It’s an inexpensive little saw that has paid for itself many times over. HOW TO BUILD A TRANSOM WINDOW Tips for building a diy transom window. Measure your header space for length and width at multiple spots. Homes are more often than not very much not square. The transom window needs to fit snuggly, not too lose, and not too tight. You can use glass, acrylic, or plexiglass for this project. I used acrylic and it looks great. HOW TO REPAIR AND RESTORE A HOT TUB Here is our cost break down: $58.24 for the cedar planks, $11.45 for the polystyrene sheet. $12.55 for the OSB. $7.68 for the 1×2 trim. $33.14 for the two quarts of spar urethane it required to cover everything. $5.55 for 2×2 boards (we had them on hand, but that’s what they would have cost.) That brings the total for this hot tubreframe
HOW TO BUILD A FAUX APOTHECARY CABINET If you follow Sawdust 2 Stitches – and you totally should because it is awesome, you will probably be familiar with Corey’s awesome rustic apothecary, which she upcycled from an Ikea piece.Like so many others, I fell in love and wanted to build my own. After watching Craigslist for a bit I found a bookshelf in the basic dimensions I wanted, then went to work removing parts and transforming HOW TO REFINISH A PIANO WITHOUT PAINT Cover or wrap the surface as you work and allow it to thoroughly penetrate. After a suitable amount of time, as determined by testing, scrub the stripper and dissolved finish off using a soft scraper and wire brush. Follow up with after wash using a scrub pad to remove theresidual stripper.

HOW TO WORK WITH RECLAIMED WOOD There are several things to know and do if you are working with reclaimed lumber. First, it’s dirty. I like to pull out a couple sawhorses, whip up some warm water with just a tiny bit of dish soap, then scrub it all down with a bristle brush out on the driveway. Second, it may have nails in it. DIY OUTDOOR CHANDELIER Cut two pieces of 3/4″ finished plywood to 31×31″. This is the maximum size that can fit on the 1000mm X-Carve machine. At least, to fit within the clamping space easily. You will carve the two sides of the chandelier one at a time.
