LIFE AND DEATH BACKGROUND Life and death. is the title of the National Medical Museum’s new permanent exhibition, which will open on 25 March at Norsk Teknisk Museum, Norway’s national museum of science and technology. THE HOFGAARD MACHINE the HOFGAARD machine. A prototype computer from 1955 is the starting point of this research project. It was developed by Norwegian inventor Rolf Hofgaard, who held several patents in electromechanical calculating technologies in many countries between 1924 and 1960.
