How to Make a DIY Prom Bouquet. You may want to purchase your flowers a day or two before the prom so that they will have time to open. I purchased mine one day before, and I placed them in a cool place in our downstairs family room in a bucket with a few inches of water in it. Start by separating all of the different types of flowers and FRONT STOOP MAKEOVER WITH PORCH PAINT Over the summer, we did a little front stoop makeover with porch paint, and it completely transformed the look of our front stoop! HOW WE ADDED LEGS TO OUR KITCHEN ISLAND Then we started checking to make sure the legs were level on all four sides. We used wood shims at the top of the legs, to shim up between the tops of the legs, and the bottom of the island top. After we had them properly leveled and placed, we squeezed some wood filler neatly into the nooks and crannies at the top, and we let them dry overnight. DIY NO SEW CAFÉ CURTAINS Source. Young House Love has a great tutorial for how to make no sew curtains both on their blog and in their book (which was my fave Christmas Gift!) You can find the tutorial I used here. And here is a picture of the supplies Sherry uses to make the curtains. Fabric, scissors, a measuring tape (not shown), iron on hem tape, and an iron. The paint I used is DecoArt Americana Chalky Paint in the color Everlasting. Here is the trunk after the first coat of paint. And here is the trunk after the second coat. TRASHTASTIC TUESDAY- HOW TO DISTRESS GALVANIZED METAL How to Distress Galvanized Metal. Supplies: Toilet bowl cleaner steel wool, gloves to protect your hands, and water. That’s it! It is probably better to do this outside and use a hose, but it was the middle of winter when I did this, so I did it in the kitchen sink. Probably not the best idea, but it worked. FAUX PAINTED SUBWAY TILE- THE TUTORIAL Supplies you will need to create the faux painted subway tile: 2-3 rolls of painter’s tape. high gloss paint for the actual tiles ( I used Behr Premium plus in crisp linen white- high gloss) eggshell paint for the grout lines ( I used Behr Premium Plus in garden wall- eggshell) A long level. BATHROOM SINK MAKEOVER WITH GIANI GRANITE KIT The hardest part of this whole project was removing the old grout from around the counters. These walls are not completely square, so there is a fairly thick grout line to the left, and it took strength to get it out. These walls are not completely square, so there is a fairly thick grout line to the left, and it took strength to get it out.
