SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

Science Department The vision for the Sullivan High School Science PLC is to empower students to incorporate interpersonal, personal, 21st century, social/emotional and scientific skills into their daily practice. This will allow our students to have the greatest chance for success as citizens, scientists, and in careers or college. Science ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS DEPARTMENT English Language Learners Department (ELL) Students benefit from a content-based approach to lesson planning and delivery. Language and content instruction are integrated so that students develop academic knowledge and skills in specific content areas at the same time as they develop their language skills. HUMANITIES HIGHLIGHTS Students will know themselves SOCIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT Social Studies Department The focus of the Social Sciences program is to prepare students to be effective citizens in a changing world. HUMANITIES HIGHLIGHTS Students will know themselves as readers and grow as readers through robust data collection and targeted reading interventions and instruction. Sullivan High School provides a unique JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS JROTCJunior Reserve Officer Training Corps Sullivan JROTC is a program to “motivate young people to become better citizens”. Cadets strive to make respect and discipline their habits. It requires leadership and teamwork. Students have a choice to take JROTC or P.E.
