Developed in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, StoryCorps Connect is a first-of-its kind platform that enables you to record a StoryCorps interview with a loved one remotely using video conference technology. THE CONVERSATION OF A LIFETIME StoryCorps gives people of all backgrounds, typically two at a time, the opportunity to record meaningful conversations and archive the recordings at the Library of Congress. Recording a StoryCorps interview couldn’t be easier: You invite a loved one, or anyone else you choose, to one of the StoryCorps recording sites to share a 40-minute conversation. Clayton Sherrod. As a teenager, Clayton Sherrod worked at an all-white country club in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1964, when he was just 19, Sherrod became the club’s first African-American executive chef and remained in the position at the country club for the next 13 years. At StoryCorps, he remembered how he came to run his first kitchen. SARAH LITTMAN AND JOSHUA LITTMAN Sarah Littman and Joshua Littman. Joshua Littman, 12, has Asperger’s syndrome, which is described by his mother, Sarah, as being “born without social genes.”. Josh, who can often come across as eccentric, has an obsession with animals. At StoryCorps they discussed pets, lying, friends, family, and the hardships of life.
