A LIGHTHEARTED PERSPECTIVE ON MENTAL HEALTH It’s served as a much-needed reprieve. By lighthearted, I mean easygoing or blithe. Which is not to say I want the importance of mental health to be taken lightly. Lightheartedness can instead be a new perspective. One that makes the mental health journey more easygoing or smoother. HOW PARENTS CAN PROTECT THEIR CHILDREN’S MENTAL WELL-BEING Another great way for parents to protect their children’s mental well-being is to encourage them to learn new things. Being out of school for a prolonged amount of time is a great opportunity to take up a new hobby. Learning a new hobby will help keep their brains sharpand bodies active.
COGNITIVE REFRAMING OF NEGATIVE THOUGHTS So, basically Cognitive Reframing can be explained as taking your negative thoughts and challenging yourself to make them positive. Something that helps me reframe my thoughts is to ask a set of questions. Writing them down, or saying them out loud can lead you to a positive thought.
