CEM26 BACKLASH
Posted February 23. I got the CEM26 at the beginning of the month, the weather being what it is I've only had 1 evening with it. I noticed the guiding (especially in dec) was not great. I took a look at adjusting the backlash yesterday and noticed that both axis have terrible slop in the mesh, I tried adjusting it, but it seems to nothave any
EQMOD TOOLBOX REGISTERING AND SETUP I use CdC but similar process. Connect up your mount, double check the comms port. Open the planetarium program, look for connect telescope, open and select EQMod ASCOM HEQ5/6, select properties and ensure all the settings are correct. then connect the telescopeIOPTRON GEM 28
Id steer clear of iOptron EC versions as they had issues with the CEM60 and 120 versions when it came to guiding. Unless you don't wantto guide of course.

The default offset setting in the ASCOM driver is 70 which seems high to me and I plan to try going down to 50 or maybe as low as 20 but I will have to be careful not to clip the bottom of the histogram. Let us know how the 50 offset works. John.CCD-Freak.
