The Review’s Honest Guide to Freshman Housing. While it may feel as though the outside world is crumbling around us, for many students Freshman year hurtles closer and closer, seemingly unimpeded. Despite the pandemic, Frosh have received no extension of the June 5th deadline for ranking their living options for next year. Shortly after 5:00 p.m. Sunday, about 150 Stanford students gathered on Stern Field for a “Free Palestine” rally. After learning about the event, which was widely advertised with flyers on campus, the Review dispatched a seasoned protest correspondent for coverage. In attendance at the rally was ASSU Vice-President WHY AMERICA STILL NEEDS GUNS Over 40% of Americans live with one or more guns in their home. 55% of us have shot a firearm at some point. Of gun owners, 67% say they own a gun for protection, while 38% own one for hunting, 30% for sport shooting, and 13% for collections. Assault weapons, however, are unequivocally lethal. These weapons destroy whatever lies in theirpath.
TO SLE OR NOT TO SLE? SLE also carries some distinct disadvantages. For one, while SLE does fulfill THINK and PWR, which most students find to be an utter waste of time, it will also take up about half your freshman year course load. SLE hampers the ability to explore during freshman year, or to make progress on some of the more onerous majors.
