These will create the four ends and middle braces of your DIY garden box. Use the table saw to create notches to seat the 2x4s. If your table saw blade doesn’t sit high enough, you may need to use a reciprocating saw to finish the cuts. Your 4x4s should look like this. HOW TO BUILD A MODERN DIY GARDEN TRELLIS Once the concrete has cured, add a 1×2 down the center of each 2×4 post. Use a measuring tape to determine the length of each 1×2 and a miter saw to trim away excess. This 1×2 is where you will attach center woven pieces of the trellis. Use 1 5/8″ tan exterior screws to attach each piece. You will add vertical 1x3s to the fronts andbacks

MID CENTURY MODERN DIY PLATFORM BED I can’t believe we’re already four weeks into the six-week One Room Challenge but it means I get to share our DIY platform bed with you! You might’ve already seen it when I wrote about the mattress we chose but I finally get to share the details of this amazing mid-century modern DIY platform bed. To recap, here’s week #1 – The Plan, week #2 – DIY Board & Batten Walls and week #3 VINTAGE STEREO CABINET MAKEOVER WITH BLUETOOTH AND WET BAR Until it didn’t and then I was left with what I feel like is a pretty ingenious vintage stereo cabinet makeover where bulky vintage becomes Bluetooth with space left over for a wet bar. Here’s possibly the best tip you will ever receive: I don’t care how many tools you own (we practically have them all) get the guys at your home improvement store (we went with Home Depot) to pre-cut your 1/4″ panels into sections for you. TURNING A PHOTO INTO A GIANT WATERCOLOR PRINT Step 1 – Open Waterlogue app. Choose the Camera icon and select the photo you want to use from your Camera Roll. The photo will populate and automatically be transformed into a watercolor. Step 2- play around with it until you get the look that you like. There are 12 presets to choose from, plus you can lighten or darken your photo asneeded.
FAUX DRIFTWOOD PAINT FINISH TUTORIAL It is a gorgeous gray! Apply the same way as you did your first color making sure to vary your brush strokes, up/down and back/forth. Allow to dry. DIY CHICKEN COOP
Make sure you understand this when constructing your own coop. You may need to use fencing with smaller holes or even bury it vertically underground. Once we finished framing out the coop/storage section of the build, we moved on to adding the run and the roof. Our biggest challenge, because we aren’t professionals, was the roof. Week #1 was off to a nice enough start but by Week #2 disaster struck and I just completely skipped Week #3 because, let’s be honest, at this point I’m just playing catch-up. But! We did build a DIY barn door and I learned a lot that I could not have anticipated prior to installing my first barn door.. So, today I’m sharing a DIY barn door HOW TO DIY FAUX SHIPLAP WITHOUT SPENDING A FORTUNE brad nailer. Spackle. paint and paint brush or roller. 2 coins or tile spacer. Here’s possibly the best tip you will ever receive: I don’t care how many tools you own (we practically have them all) get the guys at your home improvement store (we went with Home Depot) to pre-cut your 1/4″ panels into sections for you. TURNING A PHOTO INTO A GIANT WATERCOLOR PRINT Step 1 – Open Waterlogue app. Choose the Camera icon and select the photo you want to use from your Camera Roll. The photo will populate and automatically be transformed into a watercolor. Step 2- play around with it until you get the look that you like. There are 12 presets to choose from, plus you can lighten or darken your photo asneeded.

Make sure you understand this when constructing your own coop. You may need to use fencing with smaller holes or even bury it vertically underground. Once we finished framing out the coop/storage section of the build, we moved on to adding the run and the roof. Our biggest challenge, because we aren’t professionals, was the roof. HOW TO BUILD A MODERN DIY GARDEN BOX Step 1: Cut the wood. Cut the 4x4x12 wood into six equal (24-inch) pieces. These will create the four ends and middle braces of your DIY garden box. Use the table saw to create notches to seat the 2x4s. If your table saw blade doesn’t sit high enough, you may need to use a reciprocating saw to finish the cuts. Your 4x4s should look like this. You might’ve already seen it when I wrote about the mattress we chose but I finally get to share the details of this amazing mid-century modern DIY platform bed.
