Those first few years, I frustrated quite a few artist and organizer friends. They could not understand why a guy with so little experience would not listen to them. And of course they were all right. They had thousands of concerts and hundreds of festivals of knowledge and experience to draw from, while I had none, not as an organizer or as

an attendee.

SOUND & SILENCE, AN UNFOLDING STORY me the most. In it he shares his personal journey's into mystery, magic, and the occult. It blew the doors off my doubting mind. By then, I had already read New Age books like The Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo and the Celestine Prophesy by James Redfield, and while I was deeply moved by those stories, they seemed nothing more than modern myths and mere fantasy. "GIVE WHAT YOU CAN, TAKE WHAT YOU NEED" 7 years ago, I walked the Camino de Santiago de Compostella, starting in a small village in the French Pyrenees and endi ng near the Spanish Atlantic Ocean 6 weeks and more than 800kms later. It was the greatest (outer and inner) journey of my life, and to this day leaves a deep

imprint on my soul.

"GIVE WHAT YOU CAN, TAKE WHAT YOU NEED" 7 years ago, I walked the Camino de Santiago de Compostella, starting in a small village in the French Pyrenees and endi ng near the Spanish Atlantic Ocean 6 weeks and more than 800kms later. It was the greatest (outer and inner) journey of my life, and to this day leaves a deep

imprint on my soul.

REDEFINING THE FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE And while I didn't have any experience, what I did have was a clear dream and unshakable faith in the vision, as well as the courage to jump into the unknown, and the determination to keep going through all the painful and often embarrassing mistakes and mishaps. It has been said, that S&S is a festival for empaths & lightworkers. Since the beginning, this gathering was designed by its founder Sarvaan (himself a "highly sensitive person") to be a safe haven for "HSP's". It's a refuge for individuals who want to experience the amazing artistry of big festivals, yet without the large crowds, ear piercing noise, excessive choices and general over-stimulation. We tend to limit ticket sales to a couple hundred people, and we only have one stage, going on this journey together as one. EXQUISITE ARTS  &  HEALING HEARTS > _"I like to joke that if a festival married a retreat and gave birth > to an indigo child who adores art, her name would be Sound & > Silence. Indeed, since our inception, S&S has been a harmonious > merging between these two polarities, integrating the essence of > each and celebrating their union. So while S&S is highly festive, > it's not designed to be a music festival. It's more like a large > holistic retreat with excellent artistry. It has the same freedom > and flexibility of a festival, while being intimate and guided like > a retreat. It's the best of both worlds! And while S&S has lots of > high quality and heart opening music, it's still only a fraction of > our process. For us, sound is simply one of many tools we use to > guide us to those ecstatic spaces BEYOND THE MUSIC. In fact, the > majority of our time together is spent in workshops, classes, > healing sessions, and enjoying healthy food in a nourishing place > in nature. In the end, S&S is a dance, guiding us all back into > alignment & attunement with our hearts"  _
