Though brief, the time the prime minister spent at Anderson House as a member of the Society of the Cincinnati is rich in meaning. The words Hume wrote to Churchill in officially inviting him to the insignia RECORDS OF THE SOCIETY OF THE CINCINNATI ROVENANCE: The archives of the Society are under the stewardship of the Secretary General of the organization. During the 18th and 19th centuries, the archives travelled from officer to officer.
