With the rise in the identification and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders and the lack of trained therapists to work with these clients, our field is in USING POPULAR GAMES THERAPEUTICALLY Using Popular Games Therapeutically. Play and games have different meanings in play therapy literature (Schaefer and Reid, 1986). Play is usually spontaneous, has no particular purpose, and is motivated by a desire to have fun (Csikszentmihalzi, 1976; Erickson, 1950; Garvey, 1977). BEING AN ETHICAL PSYCHOTHERAPIST Psychotherapists endeavor to be ethical in all their professional roles and interactions. Yet, being ethical is not always easy. While there are regularly occurring situations that are clearly ethical or unethical, many of situations we may face constitute ethical dilemmas. These are situations with no readily apparent, clearly appropriate or WORKING WITH CLIENTS WITH DISABILITIES Individuals without disabilities tend to concentrate on what they perceive to be adverse aspects of having a disability (Smart, 2009). If not checked, can influence clinicians’ work with clients and their families (Hartley, 2012).
