We have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend operations

at both Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch. Through careful

consideration and with respect for the health and safety of our

guests, staff, and community, leadership has made the decision to

extend the closure of our YMCA of the Rockies facilities through April

30. We understand this is disappointing news if you have a trip

planned to visit us, and we apologize for that. Effective immediately,

we will stop accepting new arrivals and will be suspending all

activities and programming.

We acknowledge this is a major disruption to our guests and staff and

are making decisions continuously in the best interests of all.

Thank you all for your patience during these trying times. YMCA of the

Rockies has endured many challenges in the past – this time will be

remembered as yet another milestone in our long and colorful history.

Happy first Friday of March! March is Women's History Month and we

want to celebrate the women who've helped shape YMCA of the Rockies.

To honor the role of women in the US and the passing of the 19th

Amendment 100 years ago, the National Trust for Historic Preservation

is celebrating unsung women heroes. One of YMCA of the Rockies'

nominations is Della Just! Della was a hard-working woman who grew her

ranch from 320 acres to nearly 3,000 acres...the same land we enjoy

We’re so excited to kick off our Intro to Outdoor Skills Weekends

this weekend! We will have local adventure parents Maggie and Chris

Michalowski as our guest speakers on September 28 and October 12.

Maggie grew up in Gary, Indiana. She worked for eight years as a

Colorado Outward Bound course director and currently heads the

alternative experiential learning “Crew” program at Middle Park

High School in Granby. Chris grew up in Eaton, Colorado. He worked for

5 years as a rock climbing guide in Estes Park and currently works for

the local electric utility. They have two daughters, five year old Kit

and three year old Quinn. Maggie and Chris met while living in their

cars at a time when both of them were focusing entirely on maximizing

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the inside of our yurts.

Each yurt sleeps up to six people with a queen bed and two sets of

bunkbeds. They also have a tent pad outside for up to two more people!

Yurts are a great introduction to camping, and are a great way to get

outside without having to lug a tent and all kinds of gear.

difficult decision to temporarily suspend operations at Snow Mountain
