PUBLICATIONS
The Scottish Mountaineering Press is a wholly owned subsidiary of a charity, the Scottish Mountaineering Trust, to whom we channel all of our profits. The SMP promote and share Scotland’s natural wonders by embracing the creativity and art born out of an explorer spirit, and by celebrating the endeavour and joy in a life lived outdoors. SCOTTISH MOUNTAINEERING CLUB New Routes. Every year the club publishes, with the financial support of the SMT, a list of news routes that have been climbed throughout Scotland. Below are the new routes sections from SMC Journals since 2003. If you would like to submit a new route for inclusion in the journal please submit a SCOTTISH MOUNTAINEERING CLUB The hut was erected in 1928/9 by Dr and Mrs Inglis Clark in memory of their son Charles Inglis Clark who was killed in action in the 1914-1918 War. The original building was extensively refurbished and extended between 2008 and 2012. SMC HUTS CLOSED 18TH MARCH 2020 ------------------------- Due to the spread of Covid 19 the SMC has decided to close all of its huts forthwith. If you have an outstanding booking please contact the custodian through whom it was made. If you have a further query you can contact the Secretary secretary@smc.org.uk All five SMC huts are strategically sited in, or adjacent to, areas of outstanding mountain scenery. All have alpine bunks with foam mattresses requiring only a sleeping bag. Cooking, lighting & heating facilities are provided as an integral part of a modest nightly charge. Please refer to individual huts for current charges. Bookings should be made, with few exceptions, through Club Secretaries. Popular times in certain huts may have to be booked well in advance, so check for availability. (In the case of the CIC Hut on Ben Nevis, bookings have to be made a year in advance for the popularwinter season.)
