The Smart Cities Readiness Guide is the first collaborative and comprehensive framework for a smart city, against which cities can assess their readiness to innovate – identifying a path, taking next steps and measuring their progress. Updated in August 2015, the new version features more than 50 new case studies and new chaptercontent.
SMART CITIES COUNCIL The definition of a smart city. A smart city uses information and communications technology (ICT) to enhance its livability, workability and sustainability. First, a smart city collects information about itself through sensors, other devices and existing systems. Next, it communicates that data using wired or wireless networks.
