SHAKESPEARE FOR KIDS: AN EASY 5-STEP PLAN Step 1: Introduce the Play. The first step is to do basically a Cliff’s-Notes version of the play. When the plot and the story line are known beforehand, then our attention is free to enjoy the details without having to keep track of who is who. But we also don’t want the introduction to introduce the idea that Shakespeare is dull. COOK FROZEN GROUND BEEF IN 20 MINUTES Unwrap your ground beef and place in your skillet with a small amount of water (just enough to cover the bottom). Bring the water up to a light simmer with the skillet covered. The water prevents the meat from burning and sticking to the pan while the insides thaw. Covering the pan helps the steam quickly defrost your meat.

OUR HOMESCHOOL CHECKLIST ROUTINE We’ve been using weekly checklists for more than 5 years. For a year and a half we used Trello for our homeschool, but then returned to paper in order to reduce screen time and screen-distraction excuses. Now all 5 students have a weekly homeschool checklist, even the 5-year-old. She is the first 5-year-old to have a checklist, though. CREAMY WHITE BALSAMIC DRESSING EASY RECIPE Creamy White Balsamic Salad Dressing Recipe. HOW TO HOMESCHOOL YEAR ROUND WITH EASE We have used a year-round homeschool schedule for over twelve years – for all of our homeschooling years to date.I believe it makes both planning and living a homeschool lifestyle easier and better. Here’s the scoop on the why and the how of homeschooling year-round.. Yes, we are those sorts of homeschoolers who school year-round.It seems like people interpret this to mean we are always THE MOST EFFECTIVE TO DO LIST TEMPLATE The template for your to-do list is simple: Just a list of three. It doesn’t have to be fancier than that. This template is repeatable, quickly and effectively – and it’s the repetition that makes it work. So, the more and more we practice, the better and better we get at knowing what needs to go on the list. If OUR HOMESCHOOL CHECKLIST ROUTINE We’ve been using weekly checklists for more than 5 years. For a year and a half we used Trello for our homeschool, but then returned to paper in order to reduce screen time and screen-distraction excuses. Now all 5 students have a weekly homeschool checklist, even the 5-year-old. She is the first 5-year-old to have a checklist, though. HOMEMAKING: WHAT IT MEANS AND HOW TO DO IT BETTER Homemaking is making a home for others. A homemaker is one who does what it takes with what she has to make a home. She is a manager, running an organization, and that organization is a life-giving home. The business done in the home is nothing less than the shaping of the bodies and souls of humanity. G.K. Chesterton. CREAMY WHITE BALSAMIC DRESSING EASY RECIPE Creamy White Balsamic Salad Dressing Recipe. In a small mixing bowl or Pyrex measuring cup, whisk together all ingredients: 1 cup yogurt. 1/2 cup white balsamic vinegar. 1 tablespoon frozen orange juice concentrate. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. 1/4 cup white sugar. 1/4 – COOK FROZEN GROUND BEEF IN 20 MINUTES Unwrap your ground beef and place in your skillet with a small amount of water (just enough to cover the bottom). Bring the water up to a light simmer with the skillet covered. The water prevents the meat from burning and sticking to the pan while the insides thaw. Covering the pan helps the steam quickly defrost your meat. ELEMENTARY BOOK CLUB LIST Instead of doing literature as a separate subject (with the exception of studying Shakespeare), our elementary kids have a twice-monthly book club that they love. Books for an Elementary-Level Book Club My good friend and neighbor-down-the-street hosts a twice-monthly book club for her two elementary students and my two. They read the same
