Its original objectives were to assist students in preparing for actuarial exams and to provide a forum to practice public speaking. Over time, SIAS has evolved to become a body with over 5,000 members around the world to support the professional interests of younger members of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (“IFoA”), particularly students and those with up to five years post-qualification experience.
