THE SPRING BREAK
From atop my comforter I looked up at the hotrod calendar on my wall then down at my leg wrapped tight in an itchy, white cast. The first day of Spring Break. And me with a broken leg. Here we go again. Bonkers! Propped up on my bed, the cast looked like some huge, stringy cocoon about to sprout Mothra. THE MYSTERIOUS FRIEND The traffic raised dust in the air, gave a sense of grittiness in their throat, and made the sky as grey as a shadow of a burnt field. It differed from their hometown, where the ponds and streams reflected green. Scrubs and trees, on which birds chirped and flitted from branch to branch, surrounded their farm. As John and Jen were peeringaround.

PAPER MASKS
His nimble hands wrenched the paper mask free and threw it to the ground. There was a gasp nearby from one dancer, and a growl from another. The small chimp looked into the unmasked face before him and trembled from fear. The large chimpanzee’s eyes were round and dark, but they contained an unrestrained fury.THE CRACKED POT
There was once an elderly Chinese woman who had two large pots, each hanging on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. ILLUSTRATED ARCHIVES The Magic Feathers. Bea is bored and lonely, and missing Grandma. RAINBOW ICE CREAM
One day Nancy had a fancy for ice cream on a fine summer day. She had dreamt in her sleep that she was eating a cool, colourful, creamy ice cream cone on a hot summer day. She ran to her mum and asked her, “Mamma, Mamma, can you make ice cream for me today?” THE FATHER'S DAY GIFT Father’s Day was in two weeks. I didn’t know what to get Dad.
