MEET A BREAST CANCER HELPLINE VOLUNTEER: ARLENE Meet a Breast Cancer Helpline Volunteer: Arlene. Why did you decide to be a SHARE Breast Cancer Helpline Volunteer? Back in March of 2015, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. In my research and efforts to find information on my type of breast cancer, and eager to speak with women who had already gone through this experience, I came across SHARE. MARITA'S UTERINE CANCER STORY Marita’s Uterine Cancer Story. I am very grateful that SHARE decided to start supporting women with. endometrial cancer so that I could join the community and benefit from its resources. In March 2017, I was diagnosed with stage IIIA uterine papillary serous carcinoma (UPSC) completely out of the blue at age 69. THE IMPORTANCE OF PEER SUPPORT IN BREAST CANCER TREATMENT Having a peer to speak to helps, and research agrees: there is a benefit to peer-support programs, such as SHARE’s helpline. One benefit is that survivors are able to offer suggestions for managing the side-effects that women with breast cancer experience and share their personal experiences with cancer and treatment (Sutton & Erlen,2006).

I was in the waiting room when her surgeon came out, and the first thing she said to me was that I should have my ovaries removed.PALBOCICLIB
The Pfizer drug (Palbociclib), the first in its class to be approved by FDA, works by inhibiting cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) -4 and -6, thereby preventing the over proliferation of cancer cells. Palbociclib is taken once daily orally (125 mg), for the first 21 days with letrozole (2.5 mg), followed by a 7-day off treatment that rounds offa
HER2-POSITIVE BREAST CANCER Megan: HER2 Positive Breast Cancer. When women call the SHARE helpline and tell me they've just been diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer, I know how scared they are. Often they've consulted Dr. Google and learned that HER2-positive cancers are especially aggressive andlikely to recur.
