Ghąąji’ translates to “Back to back” or “The joining of seasons”. It is where the snowy white of winter joins the golden yellow of summer. This is the time of harvest and preparation. HOW TO DO A DAILY PRACTICE OF ENERGY CLEARING Close your eyes, let the tip of the tongue touch the roof of the mouth, this immediately connects the breath to the body. Take a deep breath in, filling the body with the breath, and slowly exhale. Scan the body, releasing any areas of tension. GHAAJJ NAVAJO NEW YEAR The New Year for the Diné begins at the new moon in the month of Ghąąji’ or October. Ghąąji’ translates to “Back to back” or “The joining of seasons”. It is where the snowy white of winter joins the golden yellow of summer. This is the time of harvest and preparation. This time isPATHWAYS TO HOZHO
This time is a time of great change. We see the change all around us, from climate change to major political changes. I see this as a time to step forward and a call to action. I think about the prayer that my ancestors had for me (their grandchild) when they were alive. Creating their corn pollen path of prayers.
