Some simply need the comfort of closure by being present as the body THE END-OF-LIFE AND DEATH IN INDIA In the Bhagavad Gita, the sacred text of Hinduism, the god Krishna explains that death is the passing of the solid into another body.Hindus traditionally cremate their dead in order to facilitate this process of reincarnation. After the death of a family member, loved ones are involved in the funeral planning, procession, and burial or cremation of the body. TRADITIONAL BURIAL RITES FOR THE MAORI The Maori in New Zealand honor those who have died with a three-day burial rite, which is becoming less commonly practiced these days, called the Tangihanga or the Tangi. The process is held at a communal and sacred place known as a marae.During the Tangi, the tribe never leaves the side of a member who has just lost a loved one. TANGIHANGA: A LOOK INTO A TRADITIONAL MAORI FUNERAL A traditional Maori funeral, also called a Tangihanga, is an elaborate practice with designated stages and customs in which the entire community takes part. Although Tangihanga is the name distinguished for general Maori mourning, there is a difference in custom between expected and unexpected deaths. HOW TO DIVIDE FAMILY HEIRLOOMS It’s rather expected that every mother has her own set of rules she expects her children to abide by. As far back as I can remember, one of my mother’s top rules was a method she wanted us to use to divide family heirlooms.I would agree it’s not your usual kind of mom rule; but then my mom is not your usual mom.
