SWAZI REED DANCE / UMHLANGA, ONCE SEEN, NEVER FORGOTTEN Eswatini has a number of ceremonies and the Reed Dance of Umhlanga is one of the well known ones. Machinery and equipment was imported and a number of Swazis were trained in the age old art of glass blowing. CAPE CROSS SEAL COLONY, NAMIBIA The Cape Cross Seal Reserve was created in 1968 to protect the largest Cape Fur Seal colony along the Namibian coast. Fur Seals are commonly known as eared seals which distinguishes them from true seals which lack external ears. SWAZI REED DANCE / UMHLANGA, ONCE SEEN, NEVER FORGOTTEN Eswatini has a number of ceremonies and the Reed Dance of Umhlanga is one of the well known ones. Over the first 4 days of the festival, maidens gathered in groups to cut and collect tall reeds. The reeds are cut from all over Eswatini and sometimes even into Mozambique.
