Last month I scared myself stupid and agreed to climb Sibebe Rock with my friend Anna, what I didn’t realise was that we were going to climb ‘The Face of Sibebe’. Anna nonchalantly suggested we do it and I naïvely agreed, I do like a challenge. CAPE CROSS SEAL COLONY, NAMIBIA The Cape Cross Seal Reserve was created in 1968 to protect the largest Cape Fur Seal colony along the Namibian coast. Fur Seals are commonly known as eared seals which distinguishes them from true seals which lack external ears. The amazing thing is that this reserve is the largest mainland breeding colony of Cape Fur Seals in Namibia BIG 5, LITTLE 5, UGLY 5, SHY 5 AND IMPOSSIBLE 5 The Shy 5. The Shy 5 are a completely different set of animals highlighting those more elusive and lesser-known species which include the largest rodent in Africa. They are the meerkat, the aardvark, the porcupine, the aardwolf and the bat-eared fox. All are nocturnal animals, except for the meerkat, which makes seeing these animals evenharder

SWAZI REED DANCE / UMHLANGA, ONCE SEEN, NEVER FORGOTTEN Eswatini has a number of ceremonies and the Reed Dance of Umhlanga is one of the well known ones. Over the first 4 days of the festival, maidens gathered in groups to cut and collect tall reeds. The reeds are cut from all over Eswatini and sometimes even into Mozambique. Over the first 4 days of the festival, maidens gathered in groups to cut and collect tall reeds. The reeds are cut from all over Eswatini and sometimes even into Mozambique. They then bind them and return to Ludzidzini, the Royal Palace. BIG 5, LITTLE 5, UGLY 5, SHY 5 AND IMPOSSIBLE 5 The Shy 5. The Shy 5 are a completely different set of animals highlighting those more elusive and lesser-known species which include the largest rodent in Africa. NGWENYA GLASS FACTORY, KINGDOM OF ESWATINI The history of Ngwenya Glass. In 1979 a glassblowing factory called Swazi Glass Craft was created as part of a Swedish Aid Project. Machinery and equipment was imported and a number of Swazis were trained in the age old art of glass blowing. CAPE CROSS SEAL COLONY, NAMIBIA The Cape Cross Seal Reserve was created in 1968 to protect the largest Cape Fur Seal colony along the Namibian coast. Fur Seals are commonly known as eared seals which distinguishes them from true seals which lack external ears.
