Chris Pratt won't definitively say if Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will appear in _GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3_

. While Thor

spent some time with the Guardians in _Avengers: Infinity War_ , it wasn't until the next installment that fans began to wonder if he could join the team of misfits. At the end of _Avengers: Endgame_ , Thor decides to give up his title as King of Asgard and travel the galaxy with the Guardians. He even jokes that they can now be considered the "Asgardians of the Galaxy," much to the displeasure of Pratt's Star Lord. _Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'_s journey through development has been quite lengthy, thanks largely in part to director James Gunn's firing and rehiring. Currently, Gunn is shooting _The Suicide Squad _for the DCEU, and most recently said _Vol. 3 _won't head into production until after _The Suicide Squad _wraps up

. _Vol.

3 _has yet to score an official release date, but based on Marvel's current release calendar, it likely won't come until 2022 at the earliest. With very few plot details being known at this time, fans have been speculating about what will happen in _Vol. 3,_ as well as

who could appear.

Pratt remained coy on the subject of whether the God of Thunder could join the Guardians. When asked why Thor isn't in _Vol. 3, _Pratt immediately asked _"How do you know that Thor's not in Guardians 3? We haven't shot it yet."_ Pratt then continued by playfully saying, _"He might be in Guardians 3. We don't know, there's no definitive yes or

no on that."_

For his part, Gunn previously stated that the events of _Endgame _won't effect _Vol. 3_'s script because he already knew what would happen in _Endgame _while working on it. This could suggest he already wrote a part for Thor in _Vol. 3_, or he could just be hinting that _Vol. 3 _will deal with Gamora's (Zoe Saldana) death in _Infinity War. _Additionally, Gunn later said he hopes to wrap up the stories he began in the first _Guardians of the Galaxy_

3_.

Another thing leading fans to wonder if Thor will truly appear in _Vol. 3 _is his fourth solo movie, _Thor: Love and Thunder . _Thor was last seen jetting off into space with the Guardians, but something clearly makes him leave them behind. Could he return to the Guardians after _Love and

Thunder_

?

Possibly, but if Gunn wants to spend _Vol. 3 _focusing purely on the Guardians and wrapping up their trilogy-spanning storylines, it might be hard to fit Thor in. Perhaps Thor will just be given a quick cameo. With _GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 _still so far away, it's only speculation at this point.
