This motor is the one with the giant "75" written on the hood and the motor is all orange. ------------------------- It's been an extremely busy summer and I thought we should cap this one off with a cool giveaway. Amazon just introduced a new version of their Fire 7 tablet, so I thought we should give one away! Naturally, it's a great device to view the S&F site. I rely on a tablet to keep up to date on the site everyday, and these are a lot more enjoyable and easier to use than a phone for email andgeneral browsing.

------------------------- Major product launches are huge affairs, often resembling a stage show at an arena rock concert. They have to be, in order to achieve the maximum impact, leaving members of the press feeling not only positively impressed, but exhilarated. However, no matter how impressive the press event, if the star of the show - the product being introduced - does not match or even exceed the buildup of excitement, the entire experience falls flat, and that's not the impression that any manufacturer wants to leave in the minds of the boating industry press....

------------------------- Fifteen years ago when Mercury Marine introduced the revolutionary Verado outboard, it not only signified a new approach to four-stroke engine potential, but it was also a bold insight into Mercury’s charted trajectory for future outboard engine development. Mercury was going to apply their engineering mastery toward developing new technologies, not just making existing outboard engine designs better, but by reinventing the four-stroke outboard entirely. The new Mercury Racing 450R is not only a stunning example of the culmination of that effort, but a product that is just as closely identified with all of Mercury Racing’s legendary race-driven history of defining what a high-performance outboard is. The 450R is simply an engine that has no equal. To put it another way, it is a lean, mean, dopamine-producingmachine.

Today I spoke with Alfred Montaner, who owns Luxury Rib Tenders , which is a company based in Miami that specializes in restoring rigid inflatable boats. His scope of talents covers seemingly every type of RIB, from yacht tenders to very high-end law enforcement types. He was taking a 36-foot Fluid 10M"Black Betty"

sea trial, which involved running the boat in the kind of conditions it was designed for. The Fluid 10M being trialed is powered by two 300HP Mercury Verado outboards,

------------------------- _This feature article was originally published back in 2005 on the old Scream And Fly site. I thought it would be good to re-publish these articles because in addition to being really interesting and useful, this type of material never ages. What was written and shown back in 2005 is just as pertinent as it is today, so I thought I would re-introduce this material to readers that may not have been here back in 2005. This time the article features many more images than the original publication in 2005._ With the 2005 boating season in full swing, most people are busy using, upgrading, and tinkering with their boats. After all, it’s the rite of passage that every high performance boater enjoys and modifying our rides is a key component to this sport. While most of us will perform some of the usual engine rebuilds and modifications, Randy Corson is back in his usual routine – painting and building custom performance boats....
