Rarely, DNA takes other forms, such as triple-strand DNA and quadraplex DNA. Similarly, double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) occurs in some viruses. DNA uses the bases adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine. RNA uses the bases adenine, uracil

ADD ACID TO WATER OR WATER TO ACID? SAFELY DILUTING ACIDS No matter what acid you’re diluting, remember reaction rates double for every 10 degree Celsius temperature increase. So, if you make a serial dilution of an acid, the change of boiling or splashing the acid increases because the stock solution isWHY MILK CURDLES

Although the clumps form in spoiled milk, the chemical reaction that causes curdling also occurs in WHAT DOES PERCENT CHANCE OF RAIN MEAN IN A WEATHER FORECAST? You’ve seen it in weather reports: “Today there is a 60% chance of rain”. Does this mean you have a 6 out of 10 chance of getting wetif you are outside?
EXAMPLES OF CHEMICAL REACTIONS IN EVERYDAY LIFE Examples of chemical reactions in everyday life include photosynthesis, rust, baking, digestion, combustion, chemical batteries, fermentation, and washing with soap and water. SINGLE REPLACEMENT REACTION DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES I 2 + 2 KBr → no reaction. How to Determine the Products of Single Replacement Reactions. The product of a single replacement reaction is easy enough to predict. If the pure element is a halogen, it takes the place of the other halogen in the compound. 10 EXAMPLES OF THINGS THAT ARE NOT MATTER Examples of things that are not matter include thoughts, feelings, light, and energy. It’s easy to define matter, yet harder to explain phenomena that are not matter. Matter is anything that has mass andtakes up space.

Elements may be identified using their atomic number, element name, or element symbol. The symbol is a one- or two-letter abbreviation of the name. WHAT IS A CONTROL VARIABLE? DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES For example, consider an experiment testing whether a certain supplement affects cattle weight gain. The independent variable is the supplement, while the dependent variable is cattle weight. THE VAN'T HOFF FACTOR The van’t Hoff factor is a measure of the number of particles a solute forms in solution. (Anne Helmenstine) The van’t Hoff factor (i) is the number of moles of particles formed in solution per mole of solute. It is a property of the solute and does not depend on concentration for an ideal solution. However, the van’t Hoff factor of a real solution may be lower than the calculated value DNA VS RNA - SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES - SCIENCE NOTES Comparison of differences between DNA and RNA Types of DNA and RNA. There are different types of DNA and RNA. DNA occurs in five forms: A-DNA, B-DNA, C-DNA, D-DNA, and Z-DNA. WHAT DOES PERCENT CHANCE OF RAIN MEAN IN A WEATHER FORECAST? "There is a 60% chance of rain". What does percent chance of rain mean to a forecaster? Will it rain 60% of the day? Will it only rain on 60%of the area?
5 WAYS TO MAKE A VOLCANO There is more than one way to make a chemical volcano. Actually, there are several methods. Here are some of the best, from the tried-and-true baking soda and vinegar volcano to the most exotic dryice volcano.

WHAT IS OXIDATION? DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES Oxidation Examples. A classic example of oxidation occurs between iron and oxygen in moist air, forming iron oxide or rust. The iron is said to have oxidized into rust. The chemical reaction is: 4 Fe + 3 O 2 + 6 H 2 O → 4 Fe (OH) 3 or 2Fe 2 O 3 ·6H 2 O. The iron metal is oxidized to form the iron oxide known as rust. HOW MANY ZEROS IN A MILLION, BILLION, AND TRILLION? The two main naming systems are the short scale and the long scale. The United States uses the short scale, in which a billion is 1,000 million and is written as a one followed by nine zeros. The long scale is used in France and was previously used in the United Kingdom. In the long scale, a billion means one million million. A double replacement reaction is a type of chemical reaction where two reactants exchange ions to form two new products with the same type of chemical bonds. Usually, one of the products forms a precipitate. WHAT IS A CONTROL VARIABLE? DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES Control Variable Examples. LISTS OF THINGS THAT GLOW Yes, I have a fascination with light and color! Here are two lists for you. One covers things that glow under black light (fluorescent or phosphorescent), while the other covers things that glow when the lights go out and it’s truly dark. Some items produce luminescenceboth ways:
