There are currently about 75 completed miles of the Schuylkill River Trail in sections, including 30-plus miles between Philadelphia and Parker Ford. The trail breaks off in Parker Ford and picks up again in Pottstown where it continues for about 20 miles to Reading. From there, cyclists can follow a 20-mile signed on-road route just shy KERNSVILLE DAM REMOVAL PROJECT The applicant, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, is proposing a project to dredge the New Kernsville Dam impoundment, including the historic Schuylkill River channel, and remove the New Kernsville Dam. Ride for the River is designed to allow cyclists to explore the Schuylkill River Trail while supporting the Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area, which operates and maintains the Schuylkill River Trail in Berks and Schuylkill Counties and works to improve the entire trail. Pawlings Road Trailhead is situated overlooking Route 422 and accessed via Pawlings Road only. Montgomery County Parks & Heritage Services and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia developed this trailhead. The trailhead provides local residents and visitors easy parking and access to three separate trail systems, the Schuylkill River Trail, the Perkiomen Trail and the Audubon Loop PERKIOMEN WATERSHED CONSERVANCY TRAIL ALERT: The latest storm has resulted in fallen trees, branches, and other concerns on the trail. Please use CAUTION on the trail as we work to resolve these issues. SCHUYLKILL RIVER PEDAL & PADDLES Sept. 4, 2021: Pedal & Paddle. About the Pedal & Paddle: The Pedal & Paddle program is a round-trip adventure, which begins and ends from the same location along the Schuylkill River/Trail. The excursion starts with a 4.5-mile bike ride along the Schuylkill River Trail using cruisers from the free Pottstown-based bike share program. EAST PARK CANOE HOUSE East Park Canoe House Trailhead offers plenty of accessible parking. Fairmount Park tries to keep some portable toilets at this location for trail users. Drinking water and picnic facilities are available at this trailhead. Parking for approximately 70 cars is available at this location just off Kelly Drive, downriver (south) of Strawberry MansionBridge. You
PEDAL & PADDLE THE PERKIOMEN This special Pedal & Paddle program is a round-trip adventure, beginning and ending from the same location along the Perkiomen Creek/Trail. About this Event Must be 16 or older to participate. This event is limited to 15 participants.
