ABOUT US - SARRAH
About Us. SARRAH, established in 1995, is a grassroots’ organisation advocating on behalf of rural and remote Australian communities in order for them to have access to allied health services which support equitable and sustainable health and well-being. SARRAH is also nationally recognised as the peak body representing rural and remoteSARRAH BOARD
Over the past 12 years Cath has held leadership and management positions in state and Commonwealth government and with a remote Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation, and served 6 years on the Board of a rurally-based Primary Health Network. Cath is ALLIED HEALTH RURAL GENERALIST PATHWAY The overarching goal of the Allied Health Rural Generalist Pathway strategy (AHRGP strategy) is to improve health outcomes for rural and remote consumers through increasing access to a highly skilled allied health workforce and enhancing opportunities for multi-disciplinary care in rural healthcare teams. ABORIGINAL CULTURAL ORIENTATION PROGRAM Aboriginal Cultural Orientation Program (link is external) The package which includes information, videos, activities and links to further resources consists of five self directed learning modules: Culture, self and diversity. Aboriginal history. Working with Aborginal people. Providing clinical services. ABOUT SARRAH SCHOLARSHIPS Encourage health careers in geographic areas and professions where there are shortages. SARRAH manages five allied health scholarship streams under the NAHSSS. These are: Undergraduate (Entry-Level) Scholarship : Provides assistance for people living in rural, remote and regional areas to study at an undergraduate or entry level. POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONWEB VIEW Sensory aspects (e.g. classroom; home – hiding in cardboard box). Coping with distractions. Familiarity of environment .
