VERBS OF GOING (INTRODUCTION). GOING BY FOOT VS. GOING BY Notes. The infinitive of the verb идти is slightly different from the other verbs we have learned: it has -ти at the end instead of regular -ть ending. The stress is on the ending, that is why е changes to ё in ты, он, мы, and вы forms.; The infinitive stem of the verb ехать is different from the present tense stems: еха- changes to ед- in all present tense forms. GENDER OF NOUNS: HARD AND SOFT STEMS. EXCEPTIONS 1. Hard Stems and Soft Stems: Nouns of masculine, feminine and neuter gender have hard stems or soft stems. Hard stem ends in a hard consonant: дом-Ø, ламп-а, окн-о (final м, п, н are hard in these words). Soft stem ends in a soft consonant: словар-ь, песн-я, мор-е (final р, н, р are soft inthese words).

1. The verb нравиться: You already know how to say you love something or someone with the verb любить - "to love" followed by the accusative case of the thing or the person loved. The Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) examinations will take place at UVic on APRIL 27-28. You are welcome to arrive to Victoria 3 days earlier and participate in our 8 hour exam training session on campus (no extra charge, this is included in your examfee).
TORFL is the only certification recognized by the Russian government that allows people to work in Russian and international companies inRussia.
This certification and its six proficiency levels (from A1 to C2) is common across 47 languages, including most European languages.
