Sometimes also known as alternative therapies, complementary therapies may help to control your symptoms and enhance your quality of life. They may be used alongside conventional cancer treatments. Complementary therapies work using the healing power of nature, stimulating the body’s natural healingability.
HIRE MEGALUNGS
The MEGA Lungs are 12 feet high x 15 feet wide x 10 feet long, and can be used at an internal or external event. The cost to hire the inflatable lungs for an event is based on the location and the number of hours they are required for. PATIENT GRANT APPLICATION A Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation Patient Grant is a one-off payment of up to £150 awarded to people with lung cancer. Grants can be used for a wide range of practical needs, such as: help with bills, towards a short break, or a piece of household equipment which would make life easier. As we have a limited amount of funding available in theBOOK A COLLECTION

RADIOTHERAPY FOR LUNG CANCER It is the most common treatment for used for non-small cell lung cancers because in general, they are flow growing tumours. Radiotherapy is a type of cancer treatment which uses high energy x-rays (radiation) to destroy cancer cells while avoiding normal cells. It is given in small individual doses (fractions) aimed precisely at the tumour over TARGETED THERAPY FOR LUNG CANCER Targeted therapy. Depending on the type of lung cancer you have, you may be able to have a targeted therapy to treat your lung cancer. Targeted therapy drugs for non-small cell lung cancer come as a tablet, which you take by mouth, every day, at home. You should take them at the same time/s each day. OUR SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM Much of her time is dedicated to reflecting the views of lung cancer patients on key committees and at key meetings, both in the UK and abroad. EXERCISING WITH LUNG CANCER Standing side stretch. Stand with your feet hip-width apart and your arms relaxed at your side. As you breathe in, raise your left arm straight up over your head. As you breathe out, lean over to the right, keeping your hips facing forward and your buttocks tucked under. Lengthen your neck and stretch over to your side as far as youcan.
LUNG CANCER AND BRAIN METASTASES Lung cancer and brain metastases. Brain metastases are very common with small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Within sub-types of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), brain metastases are more common with adenocarcinoma than with squamous cell carcinoma. It is quite common for late stage lung cancer to spread to the brain. 10 PRACTICAL WAYS TO SUPPORT SOMEONE WITH LUNG CANCER Don’t judge. Listen to what they want and how they’re feeling. Accept changeable moods and don’t take offence if they don’t always feel as positive as you think they should. Try and keep things as normal as possible. Immunotherapy is a relatively new type of lung cancer treatment. It is currently available to people with certain types of lung cancer. Eileen was on the immunotherapy, Pembrolizumab. EXERCISING WITH LUNG CANCER Getting active and exercising. Many people presume if you have lung cancer, you should avoid exercising. It is natural to feel a little nervous about being too active and getting out of breath. 10 PRACTICAL WAYS TO SUPPORT SOMEONE WITH LUNG CANCER There are a million ways to show someone with lung cancer you care.
