The Royal Microscopical Society. at the forefront of microscopy since 1839. The RMS is dedicated to furthering the science of microscopy. It does that through a wide range of activities that support research and education in microscopy, and through enabling microscopists to make advances and developments in microscopy, cytometry and imaging. Early decision taken to give clarity for attendees and ample time to plan excellent virtual programme RMS | VIRTUAL EBSD 2021 The annual gathering draws together the whole Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) community, including leading international research scientists and engineers, early career researchers, and students to highlight the latest developments, from technique development through to applications. The EBSD meeting will take place in a virtual format. RMS | IMAGING ONEWORLD Scientific Organisers: Stefanie Reichelt, Alex Sossick, Nick Barry, Alessandro Esposito and Kirti Prakash The meeting will begin at 13:00GMT. As part of the 'Imaging ONEWORLD' series, the focus of these lectures is on microscopy and image analysis methods and how to apply these to your research. RMS | FACILITIES DATABASE The RMS Facilities Database has been developed closely with the Euro-BioImaging consortium and the existing list of Facilities hosted by the University of York. We plan to make this list the 'go to' resource to access Imaging Facilities both UK and worldwide. RMS | FLOW CYTOMETRY The Flow Cytometry Section was established specifically to encourage communication between cytometrists in both clinical and research laboratories. The Flow Cytometry Section was formed in 1988. The Committee is made up from a cross section of cytometrists representing research, clinical and industrial aspects of flow cytometry. RMS | LIGHT MICROSCOPY Light Microscopy Summer School. The LM summer school is an annual, residential course which runs over 3 days and covers the principles of light microscopy as well as training participants in practical issues surrounding light microscopy. After introductory presentations, the course is taught predominantly through hands-on practical sessions. RMS | IMAGE ANALYSIS FOCUSSED INTEREST GROUP The goal of the Image Analysis Focussed Interest Group is to support and develop the Image Analysis community in the UK and the application of this science to the field of microscopy in all its forms. The dependence of the biosciences on image analysis is growing . There is now a clear need for a trained and better-organised community of RMS | SUBMIT TO THE JOM Submit to the Journal of Microscopy. The Journal of Microscopy publishes papers that report on the very latest developments in microscopy such as advances in microscopy techniques or novel areas of application.
