RIVER LEGACY PARK
River Legacy Park is one of the few known habitats of the Devil’s Cigar, discovered here in 1991. This unusual, three-inch fungus has an incredible life history and is highly unique because of its ability to make hissing sounds. Known scientifically as Chorioactis geaster, this particular species is RIVER LEGACY PARK INFORMATION River Legacy Park is a 1,300-acre urban oasis following the curves of the Trinity River in north Arlington. The Park’s ecological diversity of bottomland forest, wetlands and prairie provides abundant habitat for countless birds, fish, mammals and native plants. The Foundation has been instrumental in providing many of the amenities in the park, including the pavilions, pedestrian bridge, trails, grand entryway and canoe launch. RIVER LEGACY LIVING SCIENCE CENTER River Legacy Living Science Center serves as the gateway to River Legacy Park. About. River Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit 501 (c) (3), was formed as a unique public/private partnership with the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department in 1988. About Our Discovery Room The Discovery Room features two large aquariums, all new engaging exhibits and a 30-foot interactive screen where guests can virtually immerse themselves in woodland habitats and seasons, learn fun facts about wildlife and play a variety of games – competing to be the top lizard in a push-up challenge; jumping as high as a frog to catch dinner; or posing for aNATURE SCHOOL

CHARITY GOLF CLASSIC 3000 Riverside Pkwy, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. What is a Scramble Format? All four team members tee off. The team chooses their preferred ball position from the four tee shots from which to play the second shot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed. CARDBOARD BOAT REGATTA Cardboard Boat Regatta. The Cardboard Boat Regatta challenges amateur boat builders – youth and adult – to design, build and navigate boats made entirely of corrugated cardboard. VISIT US - RIVER LEGACY Access to the Science Center’s Discovery Room is by admission fee only: $3 for children (ages 3 – 12; free for children 2 and under; all children must be accompanied by a paid adult.) $5 for adults (ages 13 – 59) $4 for seniors (ages 60+) Groups of 10 or more must call EDUCATION - RIVER LEGACY Education. The environmental education programs at River Legacy Living Science Center provide ways for children to explore their place in the natural world around them.
