I have a BF90 on and it happily cruises 25 to 30 knots. 35+ top. If I was buying again I'd go for 110 or 135. My model (2014) has a recessed fuel cap and the recess can fill with water when washing down - a couple of drain holes drilled in the recess solved that. As for after sale care, I'm very happy. AQUA-PRO ALUMNINUM HULL/FLOOR PROS/CONS Aluminum hull will be lighter (in weight) than a comparable glass hull; may cause a somewhat rougher ride assuming equivalent hull forms. Aluminum is stronger both in terms of small and large impact, so it's a good choice if you may be bouncing off rocks. Depending on the hull, it's easy to repair, if you've got a good welder friendaround.
BOAT WEIGHT
For instance, Jigsaw, a 6.5m Vipermax with an Opti 200 came in at over 1550kg. The official "dry" hull weight should be 480. Our 7m Vmax however has a supposed hull dry weight of 600kg. However even with our heavier console and slightly heavier 250 engine, we came in at only1350kg.

YAMAHA/MARINER COIL CHOICE? Yamaha/Mariner coil choice? Hi ALL. I have a mid 80s 2st Yamaha Mariner 25hp with points ignition, model 25c 695. Are there any aftermarket secondary coils that anybody knows of that will fit, or any coils off another HP range, surely each model/HP does not have its own spec coil or does it? PUTTING 4 STRROKE OUTBOARD DOWN ON WRONG SIDE Thanks both for your help. If anything the oil level is slightly higher that it was, which is a bit worrying - I did wonder if some fuel could have leaked from the carb into the sump, but with the motor on the wrong side, the carb is at the bottom, so this seems unlikely.RIBNET FORUMS

I have a BF90 on and it happily cruises 25 to 30 knots. 35+ top. If I was buying again I'd go for 110 or 135. My model (2014) has a recessed fuel cap and the recess can fill with water when washing down - a couple of drain holes drilled in the recess solved that. As for after sale care, I'm very happy.INFLATABLE BOATS

We've run out! Barrus ( Mercury etc ) are not taking any more new orders for outboards to be delivered in 2021 earliest you'll see a new motor is next year, been told the same by 3 dealers. CHANGING FROM 3 BLADE TO 4 BLADE PROP??? Thanks in advance. I went from a 3 blade 21p stainless to a 19p 4 blade stainless for the same revs on my DF140. 4 blade will use slightly more fuel, but will grip better in the rough. I get zero cavitation with the 4 blade, where the 3 blade used to blow out. Rule#2: Never argue with an idiot. TORNADO 5.6 OR A XS RIB 600?? Engine: 200 E-TEC. MMSI: 235076954. Join Date: Sep 2004. Yes, as above the 3.8 Honwave does seem to have this reported issue, all airfloor SIB's even at correct HP (notably bar the 3.8 Aerotec) suffer to some degree with the 'undulating air bubble water bed floor syndrome' but from previous topics IIRC the 3.8 Honwave was just a step too far in length in retaining rigidity in an airfloor withoutthe Aerotec design.
