Our signature raw bar is fully stocked with a variety of Rhode Island oysters, crisp cherrystones, littleneck clams, and jumbo shrimp. Our very own Matunuck Oysters are grown in Potter Pond, right off our waterfront patio. In addition, many of the herbs and vegetables found in our delectable meals are grown on our organic vegetable farm on the north end of Potter Pond.__

Farm to Table comes full circle with vegetables grown on Perry Raso’s vegetable farm on Potter Pond. Originally owned by Captain John Potter in the 18th century, the property has a rich history of farming that continues today. The vegetable farm received organic certification in 2015. Produce from our farm includes herbs such as rosemary and sage, salad greens, arugula, spinach, and microgreens. Vegetables include carrots, kale, peas, beets, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, cucumbers and more. During the winter months crops are grown in the greenhouse supplying the restaurant with fresh, organic vegetables. MATUNUCK OYSTER FARMPOND TO PLATE
Perry Raso started digging littlenecks in Point Judith Pond when he was 12 years old. He grew up harvesting shellfish, eel trapping, bull-raking clams, and scuba diving for steamers. Before Perry opened Matunuck Oyster Bar, he was an oyster farmer. Graduating from URI with a bachelors and master’s degree, Raso has studied aquaculture and fisheries technology. In 2002 he founded Matunuck Oyster Farm, a wading depth aquaculture farm, on Potter Pond in East Matunuck (South Kingstown), Rhode Island.MENU

Tours of Matunuck Oyster Farm begin at Matunuck Oyster Bar with introductory discussion about aquaculture and fisheries on a global and local scale. Guests are then invited to visit the shellfish farm in Potter Pond. Tours of the oyster farm are a unique feature of the Matunuck experience where visitors see the different species of shellfish we provide at the restaurant, in many different stages of growth.
