Charles Rennie Mackintosh was born in Glasgow on 7 June 1868 to William McIntosh and Margaret Rennie as the fourth out of eleven children and the second son. Charles Rennie Mackintosh (June 7, 1868 � December 10, 1928) was a Scottish architect, designer, and water colorist. He was a designer in the Arts and Crafts movement and also the main exponent of Art Nouveau in the United Kingdom. He had a considerable influence on European

design.

The Rennie Mackintosh Art School Hotel was originally built in Victorian times and initially housed the affluent families of Glasgow.
