The International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry (ICR) was established by the Norwegian Government in 2005 in Kautokeino, as a contribution to the unique international cooperation of circumpolar reindeer herding peoples. Anders Oskal is the Secretary General at the Association of World Reindeer Herders and also is the Executive Director of the International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry in Guovdageaidnu/ Kautokeino, Norway. Oskal is a reindeer herding Sámi from Northern Norway, with a Master of Science in Business Administration specialized in Innovation Economy. SCOTLAND - INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR REINDEER HUSBANDRY - ICR Dr. Lindgren supported him throughout and continued his efforts after 1979 when he died until her death in 1988. Reindeer husbandry was modeled on Sami methods and two herds were established East of Nuuk, with combined pastures of 2260 km2.
