BALLARAT | REGIONAL RAIL REVIVAL More than 1.6 million hours have been worked on the Ballarat Line Upgrade since construction began in late 2017. The Ballarat Line Upgrade is the first line upgrade to be completed as part of the $4 billion Regional Rail Revival program.NEW STATIONS
This work will inform the design and construction of the new stations. The new Huntly Station has been fast-tracked by nearly a year and is targeted for completion in mid-2022. Cobblebank Station is a modern and accessible station built in the suburb’s future centre. New stations, more services on the way for Greater Bendigo. We’ve appointed contractors to deliver the major components of the Bendigo and Echuca Line Upgrade, with new stations, track upgrades and a new train order system on the way. ARARAT - REGIONAL RAIL REVIVAL This means two trains can be in Ararat each weekday morning ready for the first two services to Melbourne, enabling the extra weekday service to Ararat as part of a new timetable that started on Sunday 31 January 2021. Works included: An extra track parallel to the existing stabling. Connecting the new stabling to existing track. Securityfencing.

Cobblebank Station is a modern and accessible station built in the suburb’s future centre. BALLAN | STATION UPGRADES | BALLARAT | REGIONAL RAIL REVIVAL Ballan Station has been upgraded as part of the Ballarat Line Upgrade. The upgraded station is more accessible and features improved amenities, to cater to Ballan’s growing population. Passengers are finding it easier to get between platforms and around the station, with lifts and ramps available for people with mobility aids or prams.AVON RIVER BRIDGE
Avon River bridge. Our project to build a new bridge over the Avon River in Stratford is now complete, with trains travelling over the new bridge three months ahead of schedule. Trains can travel at up to 90 km/h on the new structure, a significant improvement on the 10 km/h speed limit on the old bridge, improving reliability for passenger MAJOR GIPPSLAND LINE UPGRADES A STEP CLOSER A major upgrade of the Gippsland Line is a step closer with a contractor appointed to deliver rail upgrades between Pakenham and Traralgon as part of the Gippsland Line Upgrade. VicConnect, a consortium comprising Arup, Decmil and CIMIC Group company UGL, has been appointed to deliver the Gippsland Line Upgrade’s major packageof works.

NEW STATION AND SERVICES FOR MELBOURNE’S WEST Ballarat line passengers will benefit from a brand new station and extra train services in a matter of weeks. BALLARAT LINE SERVICE CHANGES Passengers are being asked to plan ahead as work on the Ballarat Line Upgrade ramps up – with construction on the project to be completed by the end of the year. CONTRACTORS SHORTLISTED FOR BENDIGO, GIPPSLAND AND SHEPPARTON UPGRADES More frequent and reliable services are one step closer for Bendigo, Gippsland and Shepparton passengers, with contractors shortlisted to deliver critical upgrades on these lines.
