saying you have to have dysphoria to be trans is ultimately pandering to cis people’s fantasy that transgender existence is suffering and that all trans people really just wanna do is be cis ~just like them~ some trans people don’t suffer from agonizing bodily dysphoria every day of their life. they’re still trans. a lot of trans people don’t want to be cis. they’re still trans, even if they enjoy being that way, even if they don’t. requiring someone to undergo a completely subjective amount of suffering before they’re a qualified Transgender doesn’t help anyone but cis people sleep better at night knowing that they can ‘qualify’ someone else out of the demographic they oppress.
