DIFFERENT BAR WIDTHS Today I’m going to talk about an interesting topic that continues to cause controversy - even amongst myself and colleagues at DUOTONE - the width of a kite bar. As you may have noticed, there is no standardised bar width within the kite industry. So let’s explore why and try to find the right setup for you. Does a narrow bar make your kite slower? The biggest misconception is that a TUBE VS. SOFTKITE, AN EPIC BATTLE? Ladies and gentlemen Today we will have a close look at an ongoing battle that’s been present in the kitesurfing industry since the beginning. A battle between two very different concepts, a classic David vs Goliath situation which still hasn’t lost its intensity. Even after 20 years of development, controversy still exists around the application range. WHAT IS C- OR REAR-RISER STEERING? In this feature, I am going to explain the function and benefits of the so called “Rear-Riser-Steering”. As an example, I will use the riser of the BUTEO XC, which has 3 riser levels, A, B and C. As the rear level is the C riser, we will therefore call it C-Steering. As you can see on the picture below, the C-riser is equipped with an additional handle, marked in RED.
